Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Town of Clarkstown

Store is clean and tidy, but placement of some products for sale can be random. I walked the entire store looking for flower bulbs, which they did have, but i noticed some things were very randomly placed. Pallets in main walkways could really have anything in or on them, not necessarily what was on shelves beside them. Two other examples I noticed was that they had outdoor tarps of various sizes in at least four different locations around the store, as well as gloves in at least 4 different locations around the store. Point is if you're looking for something specific you may need to really walk the entire store to find it. The person who rang up my items was friendly and courteous, but while walking the store other employees didn't either want to talk to customers or preferred to scowl and anyone near them, looking rather disgruntled. Other than that, the prices were very reasonable and it was easy to walk in, get what you want, pay...

Always a good shopping experience here, however this last time I was in, unfortunately it was the end of the sale period where the items I came into purchase had been sold out & unfortunately wasn't able to find any other items to purchase, as I normally would have done any other time items weren't in stock. It's very rare that I walk out of this store empty handed, no items purchased, but occasionally it happens. Never an issue here, all the employees are very sweet at this Ocean State location specifically & extremely helpful at all times when I seem to aimlessly be searching for things...

This place has great deals you can't get anywhere else around here for the price, but the checkout process is ABYSMAL. There's like 10(?) registers but 1 is only ever open while 3+ employees chat ten feet away seeming unaware that the one register ripped a hole in our dimension and broke the time space continuum resulting in the slowest checkout you've ever experienced. You'll be behind 3 other customers, no big deal right? WRONG, you'll age 15 years by the time you exit the building. 5 stars because I want them to stick around, just wish they'd fix the front end...
