This place is expansive and pretty cute! It's nice to be able to browse and actually search to find hidden little treasures. However, it's beyond ridiculous to be followed so closely by the staff. I understand they are trying to minimize products stolen but it was beyond uncomfortable to have these women trailing around our family the whole time we were browsing. These women are so close, I was about to just invite her to shop with us. When we had found an item we wanted to purchase, (It was an American flag in a wooden stand.) There were about 10 of these on display upstairs. We grabbed the Flag and the stand thinking that they were together since the Flag lacked a price tag while the stand was tagged. When we go to purchase it, along with some cute ornaments, The cashier told us that they were sold separately and that there are flags that are tagged. I ran upstairs to try and grab one that had a tag on it and low and behold, none of them had tags. When the cashier tried to get the attention this older woman who was her supervisor (I'm assuming she was in some position of management or maybe the owner? Not 100% sure) she couldn't be bothered because she was chatting on the phone. When she hung up she tried to blame the non- tagged flags on children messing with all the stuff. Nope, nice try you just didn't tag them. The whole time she was condescending and acting like it was our fault that the flags weren't tagged. It was kind of obnoxious. At the end of it they couldn't tell us how much the flag was and she eventually settled on $5 but lord have mercy what a hassle that was. My Mother and her Husband also bought some items including some of the candies at the display. They were super cute but very expensive. They're just for show though because they taste old and not very good.
Overall this place could be so great if the employees didn't hover nearly as much and if the attitude of management was altered to not be so rude. I love little shops like this but I unfortunately will not be back.
Side note, look into putting some signage on the other side of the building facing the interstate. Maybe you'll bring some more traffic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has a lot of very unique items that you canāt find anywhere else and I love going here to shop for items for young children, however like the other reviews say, you will be ācustomer servicedā to death from the moment you walk in until you walk out the door. Itās not even helpful at all as they blatantly treat everyone in there like a thief. They even have signs above every single one of their jewelry turn style displays which say, āIf you find jewelry that you wish to purchase, please bring it to the cash register for it to be held while you continue to shop. Thank you for understanding.ā Itās absolutely insulting and ridiculous. I was in there two days ago and within 5 seconds of picking up a sweatshirt off the shelf a woman came over to me, took it out of my hands and told me it would be behind the register if I wanted to purchase it. I never even got to unfold it so I could hold it up and see the entire design or determine if I thought it would fit me. Iāve easily spent thousands of dollars here over the years but Iām completely sick of this place. They act like there guarding the queens jewels and have no concept of where the line falls between good customer service and treating everyone like a criminal that canāt be trusted. They would be better off hiring armed guards to stand at the doors so they could allow for a pleasant shopping experience for the customers inside the store. I canāt say I wonāt be going back but when I do Iām definitely going to finally tell them what I think about the way they treat their customers - especially after coming here and reading the other reviews so I know Iām not alone and being overly sensitive about this. Iāve never experienced this type of treatment in my entire life and it honestly makes me want to scream at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to store looking for a specific bag I found online. When I looked on scoutbags.com, I found that Witz End was a retailer who sold the product. I went on my lunch break. The parking lot was pretty dead. I walked in by the jewelry and cash register. 4 woman who worked there were chatting it up. Not one had even acknowledged me or said anything. I found the area where the Scout bags were and started to look but wasnāt finding what I was looking for. I looked around for some help, they were too busy chatting with each other to assist me. I walked by the lily Pulitzer and SWIG to see if they had something that would work for me. A woman came from the room behind (where the stairs were). I asked her for some assistance, however she had no clue about the products. I asked if they would be getting more stock in by June, she went to call someone to verify but the person who does the ordering was on vacation and the person on the other end of the line didnāt seem to know. I believe her exact words were āhow am I to know thatā. I walked around a few minutes looking to see if I found anything like the scout bag I was looking for. I walked out with purchasing anything along with 4 other woman. I am an easily, convinced shopper and expected someone with experience to help me find what I was looking for. I cannot believe that suggested selling wasnāt even attempted. I was extremely disappointed. I was telling my friends the story at dinner and all of them said they wonder how this place stays in business. They are always rude. It wasnāt my first trip to Witz End but definitely my last. Not worth the price or the lack of customer service. Many other stores with reputable staff that are happy to have you in their...
