yeah they have some stuff you want, but you don't really want to buy it from them. For the fishing section much of the lures and tackle is 10-30% more expensive than anyplace else. The stocking of the fishing dept needs lots of work. Other than picking up some closeout stuff for decent prices i have slowly stopped purchasing items as each time i go in the experience is generally just frustration. I could rant for an hour about the website, honestly the corporation as a whole needs to pick an identity and follow through. You can feel the indecisiveness, the cynicism, the nepotism and varying divisions of the corporate structure trickle down through the staff. It reminds me of that feel you got in the late 90s from circuit city and early 2k sears and the 2010 ish Best Buy, when you where in the store. It's not just this store it's pretty much every DSG/FS I've been to from NY to KS to GA and back. Really other than being the limited same day option for many sporting goods in the area is really the only reason I go in (there are some better local fishing supply options) though DSG has some items they don't. That's really it two stars for convenience which sometimes that's not even worth it. The confrontations I've seen between what I assume are people in a authority role (manager, team lead, dept head whatever they call themselves) and some customers have been hilarious, but wouldn't have been if I was the customer. In the instances that come to mind the customers did seem to be in the wrong, but how the "manager" handled it would have been more likely to be found on youtube, than a positive example in a training video. I’m never ordering anything from Dick’s again! I ordered a prince challenger ping pong table. They have two models of prince ping pong tables- Challenger and Tournament. I decided to go with the challenger because it was supposed to take 15 minutes to assemble instead of 90+ minutes for the tournament. My husband went to pick it up at the store, but it didn’t fit into our minivan, so he paid shipping to have it shipped. On our scheduled delivery day, we got a call from AIT delivery company and were told that they couldn’t deliver our ping pong table because the driver was sick. A week later, they delivered a WRONG model of ping pong table! I ordered the challenger and they delivered the Tournament. My husband started assembling the ping pong table and after an hour, wondering why it’s talking so long, then realized we received a wrong model. There’s no way that we can return this halfway assembled ping pong table as it’s so heavy and bulky, so we are stuck with this table which I didn’t choose. I honestly don’t understand how Dick’s is still in business. They don’t have any customer support and they are very disorganized. I’m going to stay away. They lost one customer if...

While shopping here with two of my sisters, we decided they did not have the items we were looking for and said we were going to the location at Crossgates instead. Arriving at that location we were asked to leave because a young women who was standing and greeting people at the door (white, long dirty blonde hair) from this store had called and said we exhibited stealing behavior. They said we were laughing, picking stuff up, and putting it back. I didn’t know that was stealing behavior?? Mean while we were the only blacks people at this location and there were plenty of other white shoppers doing the same actions. We were given no other reasoning and were asked to leave again. I returned to this store to speak with the one of the managers who didn’t know about the situation i guess. All he could do was explain why they thought that but the examples he gave were unrelated to us as we had no large bags or baggy clothing. He then offered to give us a $25 discount without addressing the girl who had reported us or doing anything further to fix the situation.
