Ive been going to this theater since I was 7, I'm 34 now. My dad used to take me as a kid, through my teenage years, and up until his passing when I was 18. I vividly remember our last movie together, the awful Punisher War zone. It was a tradition I continued after his passing, going frequently with my friends and family to the movies as a way to both see cool films and honor my late dad.
Up until recently, I always used my Dad's regal card over my own, because it had more points than my own. When regal converted all their cards over to digital, I couldn't use any reward points because I didn't have his email or cell anymore.
I told this to the manager, Keyla recently when I went to see Sinners and she took down my info saying she couldn't promise anything, but she'd try to use her resources to merge my dad's points to my account. I thanked her, got my tickets and went to the film. Mid movie I got an email from her telling me she successfully was able to transfer the points to my account. Her kindness to a total stranger was amazing, and her compassion to a customer even greater.
I know I'd always be a Regal customer for life, but this girl who didn't know me from anything made me a customer for life with this small gesture of kindness. If you happen to go to the movies, Keyla and her crew are phenomenal and will definitely take...
Read moreWent for a Friday afternoon matinee. Seats were comfortable. Movable arm rests -Yay- . Sound was great. 2 tickets, 1 large popcorn, 1 large Drink and 1 bag of m&m's was 50$.
Theatre was secure, clean and well staffed. Never got the sticky velcro floor sound that we all know from last nights spilled lemonade. Not once. Kudos to the cleaning crew. They are really doing it.
The date I was with was somewhat annoyed that after spending 35 dollars at the snack bar the ticket person was more concerned with searching her bag with his flashlight than telling us which theater to go to. She didn't say anything but I could tell she felt like her privacy was violated. She's worried the guy is going to yell at her for having a bottle of water in her bag...laughable I know, but very, very relatable and legitimate. Now nobody goes to the theater to worry about what the person searching them is going to find in their bag. Times are changing and I suppose I understand; so I capitulated and smiled blankly as not to ruin a perfectly good date with my girlfriend.
Not all theaters do this. We are drive-inn movie folk so it is especially puzzling to us. We are more likely to give our business to theatres that don't search our personal belongings...
Read moreThey seriously had a teenage/college aged individual check my bag for “weapons” - not a security guard but the same person that was serving popcorn a few moments earlier.
If an establishment is that concerned over patrons bringing in weapons then they should hire proper security.
Now I don’t feel safe in this theater. Because if they are worried that means they have had issues with people not only bringing in weapons but using them. It’s an afternoon showing of a movie and I am with children going to see a kids movie. Is this prime time for violence in a theater? Anyone could easily put all the weapons in their pockets but an untrained teenager checking bags is their safety protocol.
What is the protocol that the teenager follows if they do see a weapon in someone’s bag? What is the liability of having teenagers checking people for weapons without any training.
No signs anywhere entering the facility stating that they check bags. Is it random checks or perhaps I was racially targeted?
The theater is also dated and I give it 6 months before it closes but in the meantime you can feel safe knowing that they have Brenda vigilantly worried what’s in that tote bag you...
