Here is Spectrum's latest apparent scam. This exact scenario happened to me twice in the last month. I went in to gather information to see if I wanted to renew my TV service after cancelling it because I had to leave town for five months and needed to lower my bill. Both times I went in and asked for the numbers and information. Both times they asked me if I wanted to sign up. Both times I said no, because I wanted to go home and discuss with the wife. BOTH TIMES they sent me an email notifying me of a "change of service" listing the new TV services I was going to get on my bill. BOTH TIMES they changed my Spectrum online web account to reflect the changes I had not authorized. BOTH TIMES I went back to ask why I had new services on my account that I had not authorized. BOTH TIMES the customer service representative said no changes had been made. Not 20 minutes after I had left their office to complain about the new charges, I received an email telling me my changes had been "cancelled." The second time I went, I had all the paperwork printed out to show the customer rep, and she looked at it all like it was written in a foreign language, refusing to admit what was there in black and white. I actually asked the customer rep to send me the cancellation email, and she said she was unable to do so, since "nothing had changed." Lo and behold, 20 minutes after leaving the office, the cancellation email arrived. BOTH TIMES the customer reps said they had no idea why the changes I INQUIRED ABOUT and had NOT authorized showed up on my Spectrum online account. The customer representatives are either lying or have no accountability for these actions. I think Spectrum is setting up these new and UNAUTHORIZED services when you inquire in the hope that you don't notice it's been done. When you go in to complain, the customer reps know nothing and can do nothing, but when you leave, as if by magic the changes are eliminated. This is some outright BS, and in my opinion, an attempted scam on the part of Spectrum, so beware!! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSpectrum is literally the most trashiest service you could ever ask for!āŗļø With loooing outages(on clear days), non reliable internet speeds (that you ?UPGRADED? and pay an extra $20+ for), weird raises in your phone and internet bill and letās not forget all the extra charges you have to pay and youāre doing all the set up YOURSELF! (Sent me a new modem for the upgrade, charged me extra and itās the same exact modem as the last just TRASHIER SPEEDS, wow! I even have a Ethernet and it still sucks) Yāall are robbing people, and some of us literally have no choice but to have spectrum because of where we stay. Your service sucks, mobile and internet. Your customer service needs better advice than to un-plug and plug the damn modem, THE APP ALREADY TELLS YOU TO DO THAT!! Customer service should be able to say the issue or you would at least think the app could! Spectrum, give it up or do better. My advice: Take pictures/ screenshots every time this shit bugs on you! Run speed test, look at the promised speeds vs whatās happening and screenshot then see if you can take action! Donāt waste your money on this garbage if you donāt have to!
Update: They sent a tech, I got a new router because apparently Iāve been given the wrong one since day one and he did something to the wiring in the basement! Did it help? No. Iām using my mobile hotspot and I just ran out of it! (My phone works no where) How is it unlimitedā¦unless you go over 30 gigs..thatās not unlimited babes.šāāļø They were trying to send another tech but he was not gonna get here until 5pm (This call happened around 8-10am and by 5pm nobody will be home). Surely somethings gonna get done, itās not like Iāve been calling for 2 months now AND a tech was just here 3 days ago! I have to believe in themā¦just unplug and plug it in again, right? I also canāt switch because the providers in my area didnāt expand to my area yet. Mmm love having no internet on my day...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this company 0 stars I would. They are a terrible company that doesn't care about the customer, except their money. They will slow your service down randomly and you'll have to call them back up to speed it up. After speeding it up, it will be slow again in another week and you'll have to repeat this process over and over again. Secondly, their customer service is terrible. I talked with several different agents on the phone and all of them gave me a different response and quoted me on a different price of what I should be paying for my service. Finally, this brings me to my last point of their insane billing practices. They draw you in with a low price then slowly keep raising it over time. In fact, I talked to a customer service agent and they said I should be paying less for my service after finding out I over paying for my current service, but refused to amend my bill to what I should have been paying all along. They also decreased my service speed and stated that in order to get the same or higher speed, I would now have to pay more for an upgraded service fee.
This company, whether you want to call it Time Warner Cable or Spectrum, is extremely dishonest and untrustworthy. If you have the ability to go with another...
