Gi Threads — Local services in Town of Ellicottville

I went into GI threads this morning with my family. I wanted to let my wife shop, so I took my kids to the back corner where they had a small kids section. I figured this would be a safe spot for the kids to look at the toys and not disturb any other customers. After a few minutes of my kids looking at the toys, and playing with the fidget toys that were on display, a woman (I presume the owner or manager) came over and told me that if my kids touch the toys, they are ours. She was insinuating that I needed to buy them. I was honestly shocked - we were playing with the toys on display in the kids section and keeping very quiet. In my shock, I just went along with it, and took the 3 fidget toys to the register. I was shocked again when she rang them up - the toys were $15 a piece! So I ended up getting bullied into spending $45 on fidget toys while trying to entertain my kids.

This experience was very poor. This is a vacation town, and to have that kind of response to a family with kids is not a good way to do business. Especially in a store with a kids section.

After this, I asked my wife to drop the merchandise she was planning to buy and we left. I would recommend others not make my mistake and simply avoid this store. There are plenty of other options in Ellicottville that are friendlier and...

My friends and I went into this store last weekend. I was browsing the sweatshirt section and held up a youth sweatshirt to my chest. A blonde woman who worked there immediately came up to me and told me it was a "youth sweatshirt". I told her I knew that and I went to put it back which she then proceeded to tell me to give her the sweatshirt because SHE was going to fold it, as if I were incapable. Then she said that the youth sweatshirts were on one side of the rack and the adults were on the other closing with an "mk?" I was speechless and my friends and I exited the store and also 2 other girls who overheard this exchange. She was extremely rude for absolutely no reason. Unfortunately for her she would have made quite the profit...

This is my favorite store in Ellicottville!! Beautifully laid out, and a wonderful selection of clothing. They also offer toys, fun and quirky gifts, books, fun signs and much more. I have to mention that the quality of their clothing is second to none! I have bought multiple clothing items from this store and am always blown away by the quality and softness of their fabrics. They don't do cheap knock-offs like some of the other stores in the area. The workers are always knowledgeable and willing to help, and I am always pleased with their new and exciting selections. Truly a joy...
