PURCHASE FROM HELL!! We extremely happy to furnish our new home, the designer Deborah was very attentive and responsive while we were BUYING and picking the furniture. We had a large order placed late January, they promised 12-14 weeks for shipping and delivery, never received a phone call about how delayed our furniture will be shipped or delivered. I decided one day to check the status, given that I didn’t hear from them in around 12 weeks. To my surprise, I had furniture to be shipped as far as 10 months after the purchase. I tried to contact my designer Deborah thru emails and phone calls, I didn’t received a courtesy call back. I decided to show up to the store, Deborah was very apprehensive to help, always mentioning the agreement of purchase on my end, but not acknowledging that they were the one not meeting what they had promised. The argument got heated and we requested the manager. They stated that canceling the missing items was not an option, the solutions that Barbara (the manager) offered was to change the items from something in the clearance section (that was the only way to ensure that they have the item for delivery quickly), a loaner from their main center. We were desperate for solutions, we checked the clearance section, but they didn’t have anything, our other option was the loaner. They said will contact us with options;2 weeks passed we didn’t hear from them, ignored phone calls and emails from my designer. Finally, after all my insistence Barbara sent an email with 2 options from a loaner. Are we happy with the loaner? Of course not, but we didn’t have an option. After all these we still in the limbo, we don’t know when we will receive anything. We are just tired of chasing people around. This was supposed to be a great experience but it has been a nightmare. Read moreI purchased three items on line from your Lucy collection the 82" Deverelle sofa, the Kendrick Ottoman, and the Diondre Chair. Since these items were made based on what was shown on line I spoke with the sales person Janice Terry several times to make sure it was going to be what I expected in color, scale and quality. The final purchase which also included a Julliard Wing Chair in leather was done in Dec of last year and I did not receive the furniture until April of this year. I was very disappointed in the scale and size of the the furniture. It is very small considering that I told the sales person the size of the room as well as ceiling height. I even expressed my concerns to the delivery team who told me that the furniture was in size to what Ethan Allen was now selling. Ms. Terry finally called me back and asked me to take of picture of the items in the room and send it to her (which I don't know how that was going to change the scale). I did that and she got back to me a week later suggesting that I buy more pieces. Two weeks ago I noticed that the leather on the Julliard Wing Chair was peeling on the arm and called today about that. The person on the phone gave me the number for the customer service dept. apologized for my prior experience and suggested that I write a review. I have purchased Ethan Allen furniture in the past 20 years, both upholstered and case goods and this is the worst quality and experieince I've ever had. Read moreI have purchased many pieces at Ethan Allen. My husband and I are serial renovators and enjoy doing projects together. It took my husband and I several trips to find the right designer for us, Laurene. Laurene is great offering her expertise when needed but allowing my husband and I time to blend our creative visions together. There is something about this Ethan Allen that has been becoming more of an issue, it has nothing to do with Laurene, it has to do with other designers rudely walking in the middle of us when Laurene is giving us space to get our vision together knowing we’ll come find her. It drives me crazy. Most designers in this store are quite familiar with both my husband and I because we come in often. Though we may not be the other designers clients, we should be treated courteously as consistent clients of Ethan Allen for 10+ years, rather than constantly interrupting and not only walking between us but also through the space were using to share ideas with one another about how we want the new pieces to fit together.
