Went back for a second time on Father’s Day around 2:00. Service was much better and the food was excellent as expected. The zucchini croquettes were a special appetizer and one of the best things I’ve ever had. We shared a large spinach pie appetizer, stuffed grape leaves, and each had a gyro.
We never get dessert but splurged for a Father’s Day and got the GALAKTOBOUREKO, semolina custard in phyllo bathed in scented syrup - indescribably amazing.
So even though the first visit 6 days ago wasn’t great, I expect a rough start for a new location. I had to correct the ratings after this second visit because it really is a favorite place.
Tarrytown Lefteris is one of our favorite restaurants. Being from White Plains we were so happy this Hartsdale location opened up, especially the big parking lot.
Our first visit tonight was not great. We will try again but here were our observations:
obnoxiously loud, awful music blasting and just inappropriate for Lefteris
service is just not the same here; friendly but very in attentive; food took a while to arrive compared to Tarrytown; we even heard other tables asking for their food; also water was never refilled, and waiter just never checked on us; we had to flag him down three times for things, including the check
no senior level management appeared to be overseeing the operation
salad swimming in dressing; know now to ask for it on the side next time but what a waste
broccoli and garlic oil was not the same as Tarrytown but rather flavorless and watery
I am hoping this location will evolve into something similar to the Tarrytown...
Read moreThis was my 2nd visit to this restaurant. The first visit was bad. Wanted to give them another chance. Had the gyros platter which was over priced for a few pcs of gyros meat that was very dry. Ordered the spaghetti for one of my kids which was not edible. She ended up eating the fries. The fries are good though. Should have known why this place was empty for a Sunday. Took forever for my gyros. The kids were done eating by the time my gyros was served. Ordered a salad and they messed that up. Took forever for a salad. Looked like someone just dumped a handful of greens. The waitress messed up on the salad dressing. Noticed her going to the front by the hostess and gossiping. They kept looking over at us. It was oblivious they were talking about us. Will not be going back to this establishment. I do not recommend this place to anyone. There are better options in the area for Greek good. Take your business to : Anasa Greek Kitchen in White Plains. The food, atmosphere, and service is...
Read moreI love Greek food, I mean love!!! But…….Everything seemed great upon arrival. As soon as we were seated the table was dirty and wet and had one setting of silverware. It was a table for 2. I cleaned the table myself. A waiter came by and just served us water. Didn’t offer anything. When we asked for bottled water we’re given no options, they literally came over with two Poland spring water bottles, left them on the table and walked away. We wanted sparkling water (which by the way they were paying no mind to anyone so they didn’t even give us time to ask for the correct water) The waiter came and got our food order, everything including the appetizers came out at the same time. The meat was COLD and DRY, and fries were HOT 🤦🏻♀️ All the waiter offered us was “do you want me to heat it up”. WTH? $80 later and we didn’t eat. Oh and the appetizer, drenched in oil (fried zucchini) Nope! Never again. Went to shake shack and had the best dinner. Sad. No I do...
