A Faded Story Barber Shop — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I came to this place because my regular barber was on vacation and I was In desperate need for a haircut. What I usually get is a low skin fade comb over. The place looks very clean and organized, a lot of light by the barbers area. The person that took care of me was ok, the haircut was ok, a regular fade that any barber will do, he didn’t cut nothing on the top neither he did my beard. My problem was when he finished and I asked him how much it was?. Please let me clarified that I know the regular price for a cut is $20 and $25 if they trim the beard. With all this said he replied to me the cut was $30 which I was surprised but I payed without complaint, I gave him $40 and he got the nerve to ask me how much I wanted back. Please don’t get me wrong but where is your professionalism, he knew he overcharged me and then he also wanted a tip, please. I moved to Lynbrook November 2018 and since then I’ve been driving back to Brooklyn to my barber. I’ve searched everywhere for a new barber and couldn’t find one in the area that I liked.

A friend referred me to a shop in the area and while driving I saw the Faded Story Barber. Walked in and was greeted with a smile and very welcoming individual named Kha who showed me a few samples which I felt comfortable having him give me a cut.

I must say Kha is hands down one of the top 2 barbers I have ever had touch my head, he knew what he was doing, he was efficient and he made me feel at home and most importantly the Cut was world class, I got exactly what I wanted!!

When the pandemic hit, I couldn’t get a cut for about 3 months. I lost touch with my barber at the time. I was desperately in need of a haircut and found out that this shop was reopening after the initial quarantine. At the time, I had an Usher-like mohawk. Not everyone can do that style. But Khaliq did the cut better than my other barber did it. I was sold.

Since then, he’s given me a low fade, hightop fade, shape-ups, enhancements, you name it. And everything is by appointment which I love because I don’t have to spend half my day in the barber shop like back in the day.
