I have been an ATT customer for over 20 years and I cancelled my entire account today because the MERRICK RD store . "Hustled" is the only appropriate word for what I experienced. Greg (1) added a line without my permission when I just came in for an upgrade (2) sold me "airpods" indicating that it was a promotion while in reality he financed them on my account and lowered my service plan so that my bill wouldn't increase (3) convinced me to purchase 2 iwatches under the auspices of 2 for 1 while the promotion turned out to be $330 off of a $499 phone. It gets better. The only reason I was alerted that something was wrong was when I tried to use my hotspot and ATT corporate told me that my current plan didn't include those services. It was at that point that they transferred me to the fraud department to cancel that extra line that Greg had added to my account ( in addition to the two lines I agreed to with the iwatches). Upset with this whole process and within the 14 days return window, I went to the MERRICK RD. store to return the iwatches. Leslie (nice girl) tried to assist me; I was in the store from 7:00 to 8:45 pm. She called the manager, Anto and he indicated that I had to wait until he was in the store. I was told to come back the next day as he would be in at 9:45am. I was there at 10am and waited until 11:30 and the Anto, the manager never showed up. Jonathan ( another nice person) tried to assist me but again told me that they couldn't overturn the restocking fees. Jonathan was in touch with Anto too but for some reason Anto refused to come to the store and work with me. It is obvious to me that Anto P. is complicit in this whole scam. Sell anything you can, do what you think you can get away with and at the end, at least we will get the restocking fee. Did I mention everyone works on commission. I paid the restocking fee, paid off all of the phones and drove...
Read moreThis location has severely declined in the level of integrity and honesty. Buyer beware. I was talked into changing my plan where the associate assured me I would be saving money and have a lower bill. She blatantly lied and my bill went from 220 to 350 for 3 lines. I approached the manager today and he refused to give me his business card or the district managers card. It seems AT&T is not screening employees very well and employees are just driven by commissions. Never will I go in this store location ever again.
Buyer Beware. Just dial 611.
Part 2
Good evening. It is November 7th and my wife and I still do not have our issues resolved. Orlando the District Manager reached out a week ago regarding our horrendous experience at Merrick Road. It seems the only staff concern is about commissions and they have no care for customer satisfaction. It is not a welcoming location.
My wife ordered a iPhone 13 Pro from AT&T and brought it in to have it set up. The female agent could not put in the new SIM card because her old phone (iPhone XR) was not unparked. She proceeded to throw out the new SIM card and put my wife's old card in the new device.
On this past Friday, our phones reverted to our old plan and all hell broke loose. We had no data and could not access apps or text. I spent one hour with ATT support on the phone. No solution was found. We were sent to a Corporate store in East Meadow where Tyler was fantastic and dedicated an hour and a half to resolve the issue that Merrick created for us. We now have an open ticket where we are waiting for AT&T Tech support to resolve this complicated issue. I still cannot text Android users and my wife is still having issues and is anxiously awaiting a solution. We are beyond disgusted and will not return to AT&T after we pay off our phones. We left Direct TV and we still get incessant calls to reconnect. The quality of AT&T has...
Read moreI had always had a great experience at this store until I was helped by David. I needed a new phone and he sold us a package deal with direct TV and that completely ruined my account of over 20 years with At&t. He asked for all my information and apparently was able to get into my account without my authorization. The customer service reps at AT&T was appalled that he asked for all my info and was going into my account without my presences or permission. But, I was stupid enough to give all my info to him. It has been 4 months and I have yet been able to rectify or if ever recoup my old account based on what he did. He is one of those people who is dangerous with a little tech knowledge. I would not have given this review if it wasn't for the fact that I returned to the store recently to purchase a new phone for my father and I walked in with 2 gentlemen who followed after me. I stood right near David while he was helping someone else. David got up walked across the store and asked the other 2 gentlemen their name first and was not going to approach me to take my name if it weren't for my walking into his path. I said nicely, that I walked in before the other 2 gentlemen and he acknowledged it. But yet the other 2 men was called before me making me 6th in line instead of 4th. I waited 2 hours, when I approach David and asked if I had to wait even though I was in the store before the other gentlemen he gave me a dumbfounded look and said "I just take names" if this is how they treat someone after screwing up their account than it is not worth it to deal with them. I never was rude to him to be treated this way. Buyers beware At&t stores are independent operators selling At&t products. Do not give out your private information if you do than you might as well hand over...
