Joeys Bold Flavors is a great restaurant! Upon arrival I was immediately greeted with welcoming smiles. While waiting for my friend, I sat at the bar and had a drink prepared by Eliza. She’s friendly and makes a great drink. Once we sat, we were greeted by Joe the owner. He was an almost constant presence on the floor making sure everyone was happy. Even though it’s a new restaurant it runs like a well oiled machine thanks to his expertise. The staff appear happy to be there. Hans was our server. Friendly with a great smile He really went out of his way to make sure our order was prepared to our liking. Karen another server even stopped by to say hello. It seems everyone works as a team. The restaurant itself is warm, cozy and well appointed. Every seat was filled. Now the food…….. The cauliflower pizza is awesome. Really awesome. The Arugala salad Is light and filled with small nuts and cheese. Delicious. Chicken Milanese was fried, crispy and juicy. You can also get it grilled. Large portions and quite reasonably priced. I’ll be back to try the Lobster ravioli and the pork Osso bucco. Overall, this is a great local, neighborhood restaurant. I recommend you go there. You won’t be...
Read moreThis is a relatively new place in Oceanside. Met some friends for dinner. First off, it is narrow spot, so it can get loud as the place fills up quickly. Not easy to have conversation. The owner and manager does come out to check on you which is nice. We tried the Joey's Garlic bread which were croissants sliced, toasted and covered with garlic butter. It tasted fine, but when visiting NY, I want real Italian Bread and this didn't satisfy my desire for what I miss, now living outside of NY. I had the Lobster lobster dish which had a great lobster tail, possibly the best I have ever had. I was let down by the bland and non lobster flavor of rhe lobster ravioli that came with it. The Tiramisu was excellent, light fresh and flavorful. I sampled a friends Creme Brule and it was good as well. Service can be slow here as its is busy and our waiter took a long time to take our order after saying she would be right back and went missing for 15 min. But overall a good experience. I am sure time will help get some of the issues figured out. The menu is quite different and worth checking out if...
Read moreOne of the better meals we have had in some time! Have been wanting to try this place for a while now and we finally made it, 6:30 reservation and seated as soon as we walked in. Great service from John, attentive and informative from the menu to drinks to special requests. For the older locals, they have "Lawson Pup" style steak tidbits on the menu and they were outstanding, if a bit small in size. Bucatini carbonara was outstanding as was the antipasta salad and the calamari. The owner Joe came over and we asked what his favorite dish was, he said the Beggar's Purse, we told him we were going to get that but had to get the tidbits, he brought us the Beggar's Purse on the house just to try! That is a great way to build your business.............and they were great! My only complaint is the noise, we had to shout to speak to each other, the place is extremely loud but worth it. The pictures are not my best, we started eating! We'll be back, we actually already made a...
