I purchased my engagement ring from Kay Jewelers in 2020 and have always ensured it was properly maintained, I was informed that one of the diamonds was loose. I was advised to send the ring out for repair, which I agreed to, trusting it would be handled with care under the protection of my warranty.
A few days later, I received a call to pick up the ring. Upon inspecting it at the store, I was shocked and disappointed to find one of the stones chipped — something that was absolutely not present when I brought it in. Given that it was around the time of my anniversary, I chose to wear the ring as planned, but immediately informed an employee of the issue. She was understanding, took photos, and noted the concern in the system, assuring me that everything would be documented for when I returned to drop it off for further review.
When I brought the ring back a few days later, I was later contacted and told I would need to pay $825 to replace the chipped stone — with the explanation that the chip had supposedly been present at the time of the initial inspection. This is simply not true. At no point was a chipped stone mentioned during the initial visit; the only issue noted was the loose diamond.
I am extremely disappointed not only by the damage to my ring, but by how this situation has been handled. I felt dismissed by the manager I spoke with, who repeatedly said, “I understand,” yet offered no real resolution. As a long-standing customer, I expected better accountability and customer service. I even purchased my daughter diamond earrings from here because I love this store so much and there jewelry.

Read moreI always come here to get my diamonds cleaned and gold refurbished, few weeks back I came to get them sent out and since my husband finally came back from the military I decided to get him a anniversary present. I been approached by the manager Karen I believe her name is . And once I said cleaning she passed me off to another sales associate while the associate was clearly working on something the manager sat down and went on her phone, As if she didn’t want to assist me since I didn’t say “ I was looking for this and that” jocelyn assisted me and lord she was great! Her attitude was amazing verry giggly I love her energy. I decided not to get my husbands gift due to the managers brush off.. I came back 2 weeks later and I got assisted with Jocelyn again She’s very knowledge very nice and her vibe was just fantastic! I purchased the ring and my husband loved it. I want to rate this store five stars . But the manager seems to care more about sales/ commission rather than assisting. I always came back because of the past manager harris , sadly he’ moved on to another work as I heard . Anyways I had send it send to have them repair (loose diamonds). I was prompted by Andy (sales associate) and I must say he was the BEST. My experience with him was amazing. I remembered getting frustrated because I received an email that stated my rings were ready for pick up. But when I got there only 2/3 was available. Andy turned my frown upside down lol. He assured me that if I had any issues picking up the last one I should mention his name so the store would give him a call just in case he wasn’t at work. Now that’s what I’m talking about GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Andy should be promoted JUST SAYING :-) Fast forward, I came back yesterday to pick up my ring again and I was greeted by the store manager Karen.
