So I was off from work and decided after weeks of planning to finally check out the new Sephora at Merrick Commons. I must say the company did a bang up job with the psychology of placing goods where customers will likely purchase them . on said day I was really planning on surprising my daughters to a trip to this location on their next visit I was simply researching in order to affirm my belief. Upon entering promises to my immediate right, I noticed an employee at the 💄 station applying a foundation to her face. . I was greeted by another employee who told me welcome 🤗. I had been to a few Sephora locations in midtown and lower Manhattan areas eg. Soho so I was used to the warm and fuzzy feeling that I always received and felt whenever I visited said establishment . Therefore I was a bit taken back and surprised when this did not happen. There were other clerks galating around helping other customers and I checked out the facial cream, eyes, girls perfume men's cologne etcetera. I remained at the store for approximately 35 mins to an hour. I checked out all the Aisles. During that period no one offered to help me or asked if I had any questions about any of the products. it was weird 😕 to say the least. Something was missing I 💭🤔 thought to myself. Maybe it's just a Long Island thing. I cannot speak for other customers. I can only speak for myself but it was not a great experience. But don't take my word for it, maybe 🤔 your experience was different. There's sufficient parking free of cost depending on the day of the week you visit. It was pretty clean...
Read moreI’ve tried to like the Merrick store but each time I’ve gone, none of the Sales Associates have been helpful. The one time one of them approached and asked if I needed help, she was quick and I felt rushed. She dismissed me when I asked her another question and went off to another customer. The other times I’ve gone, they have walked by me multiple times and have gone to ask other women if the need help (I guess they assume they have more money) when I did ask one of them for help, she just pointed me in the direction of other brands. That’s when I decided to leave and will not be returning. I’d rather go to the Oceanside one where I’ve never...
Read moreOn August 22nd, I visited the Merrick location and sought assistance from an associate. As I continued shopping, I requested further assistance, which a young woman was prepared to provide. However, I was informed that assistance was unavailable due to the impending closing time. Given my travel plans the following morning, I was unable to return. I believe I was subjected to racial profiling. Consequently, I will no longer patronize this establishment. If customers are present in the store, they should be provided with assistance. The associate's personal schedule should not have impacted my ability to...
