I have to say....this store has BY FAR some of the rudest, least helpful, verbally abusive employees I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I wish I could give them ZERO stars! I say "some" because there are other employees at the Walt Whitman location where I had quite the opposite experience, who were fabulous and very helpful. I've never written a review for any PBK store before, but thought that the grossly abhorrent treatment that I received at this store, by more than one employee on more than one occasion warranted a negative review. I called to inquire about a quilt and was told they'd check on it and get back to me within the hour. Well, several hours went by and when I hadn't heard from anyone, I called back and inquired again if they had been able to see if they had the quilt in stock. I was very meanly chastised for calling back, that they were extremely busy, and the person who was helping me had gone to lunch, that she was working on it. Furthermore, I was told not to call back, that the person at lunch would call me back when she returned....and "click" the employee hung up before I even said another word. I was really taken aback at her rudeness. Never has this happened to me before. Two days went by and no one ever returned my call. After two days, I called this store again, hoping to get a different and less rude person. I did get a different person, but she was meaner than the first and purposely hung up on me while I was in mid sentence. Wow! I've never had anyone at a store get so bent out of shape at a simple request that they felt they had to yell "goodbye" and hang up on a customer while they were still talking. Later in the day, I called again. This time I got the first rude employee again and she continued to talk to a customer at the counter, without even acknowledging my incoming call with a "hello" or "can you please hold," but just kept talking for almost a minute and then ultimately hung up the phone. Was it a mistake and she didn't know someone was on the phone? Possibly. But I give up! Just a most dreadful experience all around. I will never go to this store or call this store again! All these things seem to be adding up to a whole mountain of poor customer service from this store. Hopefully, management will see this and give their employees a refresher course on good customer service. Afterall, we (their customers) are the reason their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at Pottery Barn Kids Whalt Whitman shops, which I feel compelled to share. I took my children to the store to pick out their back-to-school gear and some additional items for the playroom. Unfortunately, the visit turned into a distressing ordeal, largely due to the behavior of an assistant manager named Leah.
From the moment we arrived, Leah's demeanor was unsettling. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, she kept visiting the areas where the children were and loudly criticized the mess they were making. Her remarks made the atmosphere uncomfortable and overwhelming, leading me to hurry through our shopping and leave sooner than planned.
Things took a turn for the worse when Leah snatched a toy car from my 4-year-old nephew, who was crying. When I asked for assistance with our purchase, Leahās response was dismissive. I politely reminded her that this was a childrenās store, and her lack of empathy was troubling. Her behavior escalated when she told another customer how well-behaved their children were, despite the fact that the kids were simply being kids. I confronted Leah about her unprofessional remarks and asked for her name. She lied, initially giving the name āAnneā before admitting her real name was Leah.
Even after this, Leah continued to hover and stare at us while we completed our purchase and selected monogramming for the backpacks. When I asked another employee to address Leahās disruptive presence, Leah responded by saying, āUgh, itās not like I want to see your fāing ugly kids.ā At this point, the kids had already left the store, but the rude comments and behavior continued to impact our experience.
The worst part is that Leah's conduct was particularly hurtful given that my son has autism. Despite other employees acknowledging that the children were not disruptive, Leahās harsh comments and actions were not only unprofessional but potentially damaging. Itās deeply troubling that someone with such a negative attitude is in a position of authority at a store meant for children.
Overall, Leahās behavior was unacceptable and has left a lasting negative impression. I hope Pottery Barn Kids will address this issue seriously to ensure future customers do not have similar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk I have nowhere else to place my complaint!!! I want to start by explaining That when I placed an order on December 13 for four of my grandchildren I was told the products would be in and I would receive them on or December 20. I received an email 2 Days ago telling me that two out of my four orders would be received January 9, 2018. I immediately called customer service. First phone call took me 50 minutes to get a live voice. I explained the situation and I was disconnected. I made a second call waited an additional 45 to 50 minutes to hear a live voice again I explained my situation, I was told she would get a supervisor for me and I was disconnected again. My third phone call 35 minutes later I get a live Voice and she tells me.......sorry but they are out of stock. These gifts were the Main gifts for my grand daughters, it was luggage that was monogrammed and the items I picked did not say āout of stock.ā When I ordered them. She tells me there is a glitch!!!! REALLY!!!! I never would have ordered if I knew I was not going to receive these items by Christmas. They were big price times and now I am scrambling around trying to figure out what Iām going to do. I canāt only give 2 grandchildren The gifts that they were going to get for the vacation that they will be leaving the day after Christmas. What I am so upset about is the fact that I ordered it with a peace of mind that I was getting these products they were āIN STOCKā when I ordered them how can they possibly be out of stock now. I just happened to check again hoping that maybe I would get them before Christmas and now my date has been extended to January 31, 2018!!!! I am so disgusted with these people I was promised a call back from supervisor twice and still have not heard from anyone. How dare them put me in that situation! How dare them not get back to me as a customer! How dare them not apologize and then try to appease me instead theyāre irritating me to no end. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will never deal with them again. I will tell everyone I know how...
