LWD Purchase: Purchased a LWD for my bridal shower here. I scheduled an appointment to get a LWD for a couple of Jenny Yoo dresses that I was interested in a couple of weeks before my bridal shower. I did email the bridal shop ahead of time because I was interested in very specific dresses and the dresses were ready for me to try on during my appointment. The experience trying on the LWD options was wonderful.
Alterations: I am writing this review after having my bridal shower. My LWD dress was altered and fitted with the store and there was no issue at all. Felicia did a wonderful job assessing what needed to be adjusted right away. My LWD needed to fit me like a glove to look good and on the date of my bridal shower, the dress fit perfectly.
Bridal Dress Experience: Matt has an amazing collection of dresses and a wonderful eye. We decided to shop for bridal dresses as well! After talking with Matt some more, it felt like he was very methodical and deliberate with which dress suppliers to work with. It felt like it mattered to him that his suppliers are trustworthy and reliable and it gave me peace of mind.
I tried on many dresses and Matt went out of his way to make a dress suggestion that I ended up picking. It felt like he was paying attention to my body's proportions as well as the dresses I was selecting. He offered different options that I honestly would have never considered and his input was instrumental.
I want to mention Jill in particular. She was the most amazing hype person. She really made me, my mother and my sister feel so comfortable. She was a big part of the reason why all of us decided to shop around more for bridal dresses. Everyone should have a Jill and Matt when shopping for their bridal anything.
Customer Service: My experience regarding the LWD went perfectly and without issue. I am dropping this review a little early as I haven't received my wedding dresses yet. But, I ordered my bridal dresses 6 months before my wedding date. Matt made sure to place a rush order so that I could receive them on time. He spared no effort to make sure any concerns I had were addressed. Even with requests that I felt uncomfortable/anxious asking for, he allowed me to feel comfortable asking and tried to make things happen on my behalf. I can't say enough how thankful I am for the consideration of the staff. I would highly recommend people to consider saying yes to the dress here :)
Update After Receiving My 2 Bridal Dresses This is an update because I received my dresses about a week ago (last week of August). The dresses arrived a couple weeks later than expected, but I understand that the store is subject to the delivery estimates of their suppliers. In addition, I purchased my dresses considerably late in the planning process and even with the delay, it did not have any negative impact on my timeline or schedule. The dresses were otherwise perfect and I truly do not have any complaints.
I would advise everyone to follow Matt's recommendations regarding fit. I remember I requested to bring both dresses down a size because I had planned to lose weight. He recommended that I not do that for one of the dresses due to the dress's structure/my hip measurements and that I only change the size for one of the dresses. He was 100% right and I am very glad to have listened. If I hadn't, I'd be in a very stressful predicament right now.
Matt also seemed very aware and conscientious of certain pressures that wedding season can bring. I didn't feel anything less than beautiful whenever I was in the shop and I can't thank Matt and the staff enough....
Read moreI don’t normally do reviews, but Matt from the Bridal Salon of Huntington Village, is someone you NEED when choosing your wedding gown. I had always envisioned a destination wedding my whole life, however, my brother is now unable to travel and I was having a really difficult time envisioning a Long Island wedding. I made an appointment at the salon and had an idea of what I wanted in a dress. Myself, my mother, and 2 bridesmaids were able to pick out some dresses in the shop and since this was the first time I was ever trying on dresses, I wanted to try on all different styles, so that I knew when I found “the one” that I wouldn’t have any regrets. I must’ve tried on almost 20 dresses and thought I found the one until I turned around and looked in the big mirror behind me and felt like I looked like a disco ball. Matt then suggested trying one that we had put back originally, it was the 3rd one I tried on. I tried it back on and he put a veil on and added sleeves and I fell in love. After 5 LONG hours I was saying yes to the dress. (His sister Jill was also so sweet!) Well the next day I woke up and I began to panic. The dress I chose was nothing like the dresses on my Pinterest board or what I had always envisioned myself in my “destination wedding” I had planned for years in my head. Well the salon was closed that day and I knew the dress I chose from a trunk show would be shipping back to New Zealand. I was panicked I paid for a dress I felt “wasn’t me and wasn’t bridal enough.” The next day I called the salon.. 15 times and had my fiancé calling (embarrassing, but I was in a panic at this point lol). I ended up calling their Dix Hills location because I hadn’t reached anyone in Huntington Village (I found out Matt had ran an errand that morning and didn’t have any appointments so he was 15 mins late opening the shop). I spoke with his mother and she said she would text him. Matt called me shortly after and I rambled on about all my worries and how I “chose the wrong dress.” He told me packed up my dress to send it out but would take it back out and “had a few ideas” on how the make it more “bridal” and asked me when I could get there. I rushed to the salon and I tried on several more dresses that resembled my Pinterest board, but nothing was really standing out to me. I then put back on the dress I originally chose and fell in love again, but still was unsure if it were bridal enough. With that Matt tweaked a few things with the dress and changed the veil and it literally brought tears to my eyes, I was saying yes to the same dress twice! Never in all of my dreams had I ever envisioned this beautiful of a dress. Matt brought me a whole new vision of a wedding better than anything I had dreamt up in my head over the years. He truly has a gift and the patience of a saint to deal with my high anxiety with such compassion and kindness to allow me to keep trying dresses for another 2 hours to feel better, before he showed me what he knew would be “the dress.” So moral of this long review is go see Matt at the Bridal Salon of Huntington Village, you will not be...
Read moreI just want to start by saying—this was my last stop and the last dress I tried on... and it ended up being the one!
I began my dress shopping journey just a week before making this appointment at the Bridal Salon of Huntington Village. I almost canceled it because I thought I had already found my dream dress at the first shop I visited. But after trying on what felt like a million dresses, I wasn’t 100% sure and decided to keep this appointment—and I’m so glad I did.
What makes this salon so special is that you get the entire space to yourself. It’s just you and your people, shopping freely without any pressure or distractions. It honestly felt like being a kid in a candy store—pure magic.
Another thing I loved was how respectful and accommodating the staff was. When it came time to try on dresses, they’d unzip it for me and then step out of the room so I could change in peace. Most places are all up in the dressing room with you, so this felt super refreshing and comfortable.
They also have mirrors at every angle, which gave me a full, honest look at each dress—such a game-changer. And right near the mirrors, they have every accessory you can think of. Veils, sleeves, straps—everything is laid out so you can really play with your vision.
One of the biggest standouts for me was how immaculate every dress was. I’ve been to shops where dresses were stained or stretched out—not here. Every gown was in pristine condition, and you could tell the owner takes a lot of pride in keeping everything in tip-top shape. It truly felt like a luxury experience.
And yes—the dress I fell in love with was a little out of my price range, but as they say: when you know, you know. I can’t wait to wear her again!
Another huge perk: once you purchase your gown, you get 10–20% off all future accessory purchases (think veils, jewelry, handbags, etc.). Plus, they have a sister shop for Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses, and moms get 10% off there too. So many great reasons to say yes here!
If you’re looking for a beautiful, stress-free, and high-quality experience, I highly recommend the Bridal Salon of Huntington Village. It was everything I was looking...
