Cami Boutique — Local services in Town of North Hempstead

I have never in my life had an experience like the one I had when I made the mistake of entering this store. It's not that it doesn't have nice dresses. It does. But they are not worth the abuse you have to take in order to buy them. The owner is clearly in need of some heavy duty medication. I went in to look at jewelry to go with an unusual gown I had bought elsewhere. I described it to her and she picked out earrings for me. When I told her they wouldn't really go with my dress (that she never saw) she proceeded to snipe at me that she knows better than I do what will look good and told me how many years she'd been in the business. Then she closed up the case and turned her back on me. When I looked in another accessory case, she sent her assistant to watch over my shoulder as if I was going to steal something. I couldn't believe I was actually being treated this way. I was waiting for someone to yell "Smile, you're on Candid Camera," but I wasn't that lucky. I shook my head and walked out of the store in a daze. Everyone I know who has entered this store since has a horror story about the crazy owner. How she stays in business is a complete...

I don't have a google account so this review is under my daughter's name (mine is Gail) but I just discovered Cami and it's owner Marion last Sunday when I was shopping for a dress to wear to my twin's Bat Mitzvah and had a fabulous experience! Amazing selection (not same old boring, over priced garments found every where else.) If you appreciate fashion and have a sense of style this boutique is for you. I was also shocked at how reasonable the prices were. I found Marion to be enthusiastic and passionate about what she does and sells. Sadly, I think that may get misinterpreted. I found a dress that worked perfectly for my event and she did an great job on the alterations. When one of my twins's came back with me for a fitting, she even picked out a casual dress and top for herself and now wants to shop there. Bottomline I'm thrilled to have this gem of a boutique so close by!

My daughter and I were casually shopping and we were commenting on a piece of clothing. The woman who was working immediately made a rude and obnoxious comment asking my daughter if she just said she didn't like the piece? And continued to pass comments, I thought for sure this lady is joking and made a joke and then she reamed into me! This woman was more than twice my age and I could not believe the hatered and disgust she spoke to both of us with! I taught my daughter to always respect her elders. I am floored at the disgraceful manner in which we were treated! I will not only never shop here but I will make a point of telling everyone I know how horrible they treat customers at this outdated, hole in the wall, joke of a business! No wonder you have a 1.8 rating...I would give a zero if it were available! You are a disgrace to the retail...
