I went to see Dr. Sadaty for a pre-conception consult. I'm struggling with infertility and failed 3 IUI's and 3 IVF's. My last IVF ended in a miscarriage and I went to see her for a holistic perspective. In my second visit, Dr. Sadaty was rude, insensitive, dismissive and condescending.
She went from Doctor to Sales person as she tried to sell me some cash "Functional" program that included diagnostic tests she claimed were not covered by insurance. I of coursed explained to her I had already spent a lot of money on IVF and could not take on more medical costs. I asked her to run the tests through my insurance since diagnostic test are typically covered. She very rudely and aggressively said to me "you choose to spend money on IVF but don't choose to spend money on this" REALLY??!! NO ONE CHOOSES TO SPEND MONEY ON IVF!!! INFERTILITY IS A DISABILITY JUST LIKE ANY OTHER. IT'S NOT NOR WILL IT EVER BE A "CHOICE!"
I explained this to her and informed her I had drove 15 miles to her and once again asked for her help outside of the out of pocket/cash "Functional" program. She rudely and condescendingly stated with no compassion in her voice: "I cannot help you or treat you unless you pay for the "Functional" program and with your blood results unaddressed through this program you will NEVER get pregnant!" I'm shocked at not only what she said but at her apathy. WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR SAYS THAT TO A VICTIM OF INFERTILITY WHO IS REASONABLY DISTRAUGHT FROM A RECENT MISCARRIAGE AND REASONABLY FINANCIALLY STRAINED FROM IVF EXPENSES??!! I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A BLATANT LACK OF BEDSIDE MANNER UNTIL NOW!!
I was so hurt by her apathy and cruel tone I stormed out of her office. This doctor is bothered by thorough questions and is just looking to push out of pocket/cash programs not covered...
Read moreDr Sadaty was my OB before she left the practice to just do gynecology. I was unhappy with her at the end. She started off nice and I had no issues and then toward the latter part of my pregnancy she just sprung on me she would be leaving in July and my due date was July 9th so I figured she would see my pregnancy through. Nope! She told me she wouldn’t be available if I had the baby past June. I ended up delivering early at 37 & 4/7. She was on call the day I was heading in from advice of an Obgyn at the hospital where I work. I called her to tell her this OB said she would induce me due to my elevated blood pressure. She knew I was heading to the hospital and she was on that day. However, she did not stay to see me and she knew I was very nervous. To boot, that was a Tuesday and I didn’t have my baby until Thursday evening and she still did not show up to see me! And it was June. I think this was incredibly selfish of her and unprofessional. It turned out good bc Dr Rifkin delivered my baby and he was great.
She also was unprofessional in sharing her personal views on immunizations with me when I inquired about getting the dtap while pregnant.
It’s been awhile but I have not forgotten and I think she’s good at pretending she cares. If she really cared she would have seen me through as I had been with her...
Read moreAfter struggling with a host of issues (e.g., IBS, menorrhagia, motion sickness, mood swings) during my adolescence and especially postpartum, finding Dr Sadaty through a trusted friend was Heaven sent. She goes a layer deeper than traditional OBs or gastroenterologists through specialized testing that results in real data with which to work. After visiting 5 gastros in 15 years and being poked and prodded to the extreme - only to come back with a diagnosis such as "IBS" or "take this drug" - working with Dr Sadaty has given me complex, yet understandable diagnoses and a multi-pronged path to recovery. In addition to being deeply thorough, Dr Sadaty has been my teammate in co-creating my recovery (which is additionally tricky as I am nursing) and making sure I feel heard and have a say in what works for me and where we need to seek alternatives. I am deeply grateful for her care and support. I highly recommend her to anyone who is willing to put in the time, money, and commitment to a true health journey. Also - she is ALWAYS on time, which is so helpful to a working...
