OLD REVIEW- Scale down for update ; Delicious food every single time. Made reservations because ive always seen a crowd here. Their tortilla soup is amazing. In fact, whatever you order is going to be incredible. Their service is fantastic. Their staff is knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and professional. Hands down one of my favorite places to eat.
Read moreWent to Besito for brunch during my birthday weekend. They were very accommodating when making the reservation. Originally, I had about 15 people and they offered a private room with no additional cost or need to do a prix fixe. The restaurant is spacious. The day of the number reduced to 8 people and they had a large table for us in the general dining area. It was a Sunday and they had a 2 for 1 margarita special. A friend and I ordered the mango margarita that we both didn't really like. It did not taste like a typical mango margarita. My cousins ordered a frozen margarita that they enjoyed. I switched to the watermelon margarita after which I enjoyed. It was very refreshing. I liked that you were able to switch to a different one for your second one and weren't obligated to order the same exact one. We started off with the guacamole to share. It was pretty disappointing for a Mexican restaurant. We all joked that it felt like the person making it got distracted and forgot to finish it. It was missing salt and lime, but we're easy going so we just asked for some and jazzed it up ourselves at the table. The chips also came with salsa which was good. For our entrees, most of us ordered their iron skillets tacos. I got the mixtos which had Grilled skirt steak, chorizo, chicken, queso Chihuahua served with a nopales salad and corn tortillas. The tacos came with rice and beans for the table, but it was not a big portion considering how many people we had, but again we made it work. One of my cousins orderd the salmon salad with pistachio crusted salmon, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, avocado, queso fresco, chipotle cream dressing. It's one of the best looking salads I've seen and I am not a big salad fan. Her husband got the filete de res, filet mignon which came with a side of plantains with queso fresco. He was tearing his food up so apparently it was good. My other cousin got the arrachera, grilled skirt steak with an arugula salad that could not be subbed which he was disappointed about, because like me, not a big salad fan. The steak was a good portion though so he enjoyed his meal and we let him have most of the rice and beans. They came out with a tres leches cake for my birthday which I ate by myself. It was good. Overall, the meal was enjoyable. The portion sizes are decent. Enough to keep you satisfied. The prices are a little high for Mexican food, but for the neighborhood it's to be expected. The servers were attentive and it was a good dining experience. I'd...
Read moreMy kids and I visited Besito Mexican Restaurant this past weekend, and it was our first time dining there - so we weren’t sure what to expect. We appreciated the ample parking, with many empty spaces available. We were able to park right across from the restaurant, which was very convenient. Upon entering, however, we were a bit confused - no one greeted us or approached us right away. We had to wander for a bit until a bartender noticed us and seated us at a table right next to the bar, in the middle of heavy foot traffic where drinks were being mixed. My daughter-in-law politely asked a waiter if we could move to a booth instead. Unfortunately, he told us booths were reserved for parties of four or more (there were just three of us), despite many being visibly available. Thankfully, a bartender named Tatiana came to the rescue - she said we were welcome to take a booth and kindly brought us menus. Her accommodating attitude definitely made a difference in our experience. For our meal, I ordered the Tacos Hongos served on an iron skillet and a Besito Patrón Margarita, which the waitress recommended in place of the La Paloma (which she said was a bit strong). My kids ordered the Quesabirria and Quesadilla Chicken Parrilla. Before the food arrived, we were served chips and salsa, and later a bowl of fluffy rice and a bowl of beans came as sides. The wait time for our food was around 20–25 minutes, which was fair, but when the dishes arrived, the portions were quite small, not suitable for sharing. We sampled each other’s meals, and the kids agreed that my taco dish was the most flavorful, although there could have been more tortillas. Their quesadilla and quesabirria were okay, but not particularly memorable. The atmosphere was pleasant, with comfortable music that didn’t overpower our conversation. The dining layout included tables for two and four, and it looked like larger groups could be accommodated by pushing tables together. Before we left, a staff member was taking photos of guests, and he kindly offered to take our picture, which was a nice touch. Overall, I feel that the restaurant is a bit overrated, but Tatiana’s professionalism and attentiveness helped elevate our experience. If you enjoy spicy food, this might be your kind of place. If not, you may want to explore other options. Final verdict: 4 out of 5 stars - all...
