Horrendous... truly abysmal. Don't come here if you want a mans haircut. I'm an extremely easy going individual with some pretty thick skin and I have to be honest... the staff at this Supercuts location are far from welcoming. I read through several of the other 1 star reviews after leaving there earlier today and can whole heartedly say this disgrace of an establishment deserves every negative review that it has AND some.
From the moment I walked through the door I felt like my presence was burdening them. I simply asked if they had time for a walk in and the woman immediately told me to remove my hat and take a seat. Yes ma'am... not a problem. I brushed it off... I get it you close in an hour, it's probably been a long day for you... I to have just come from work so I can sympathize. I proceed to give this wonderful blonde woman with 50's style bifocals my information and she tells me to take my hat off and put all of my belongings on the couch behind me. I promptly removed my hat and politely chose to hold my valuables under the apron while this wonderfully specific and insistent woman attempted to give me a haircut.
I politely requested a "Modified crewcut" a #1 around the sides, blended to the top and then cut to a finger breadth in length. She was completely lost and said she was going to buzz it. I tried finding common ground, repeated my previous statement and requested she cut the top portion of my hair with a scissor to 1 finger breadth... a modest order in this day and age. She then basically told me I had no idea what I was talking about and said what I wanted was a caesar hair cut and she "Needs to buzz it because that's the right way to do it". The exchange from here was extremely unpleasant as you can tell. I told her it's basically the equivalent of a #5 on the top. She was dumbfounded I knew the number in length relative to what I wanted but still couldn't wrap her head around the concept and said shes going to use a #8 and go from there.
Fine, not a problem, have at it. Your a licensed professional, give it your best shot. I'm your canvas dont take an ear off it's that simple. As she insists to buzz the top of my head and blend the sides circumferentially she mutters "This is how I'm doing it your going to have to live with it". I laugh and say sure sounds great. This whole time she's basically strangling me with the cord from the buzzer... it's almost comical really. I felt like she wanted to slap me she was struggling so badly and unsure of her approach. She keeps telling me to sit straight which I was clear as day at a 90 degree angle in the chair. Mind you I have pain in my C6 C7 disc space/vertebrae and lumbar scoliosis at about a 15 degree curve. Tmi w/e it's a review congrats for making it this far, almost done.
After being on my feet for 13hrs that same day I think I was doing pretty well for myself; but her impressive level of condescension and affinity to remind me I basically know nothing about cutting hair was most definitely still present. She rounds the back of my neck, gave me a mirror and starts unbuttoning the apron. I requested she goes shorter on the top of my head towards the front because it was clearly uneven.
I tried pointed out the clear distinction in short hair to full longer more prominent hair in the front. She interrupted me as I began to ask a question and said "Sir that's the front of your head" she and the other beautician both laughed at my critique... soooo ... My blood was boiling at this point and I politely said Actually! We're good! Thanks you for all of your help! Fantastic job! I left her a 5 dollar tip and that is the last dime supercuts will get out of me for the rest of my life. Take a page out of my book, go to a real barbershop. It's worth it! Dont give your business to people to clouded by their...
Read moreTonight was the worst experience I have ever had when attempting to get a haircut. I walked in and the male hairdresser was on the telephone with a credit card company. He was an extremely cold and unpleasant individual. The poor hairdresser Marie attempted to check her costumer out, but he refused to let her use the machine since his phone call was more important, than the costumer being able to pay for her haircut. He told her that "She's just going to have to make the costumer wait." After Marie managed to use the costumers credit card in the back after about five minutes to ten minutes of making her wait, the costumer asked the man to please thank the female hair dresser about three times, to which the man refused to answer her which you could see perplexed her. Then another woman waiting for her haircut couldn't believe that her appointment was at 5 and she had been waiting there for 30 minutes and made a point to let me know how rude and unprofessional he had been after introducing herself. I am not someone who goes out of his way to write a review, but this man has no place in a hair salon, especially if he demeans his fellow coworker. I work next door, so figured I'd give this facility a chance, usually I stick to barbershops but boy did they blow it. I couldn't just sit there any longer with this disgraceful individual. My boss actually went earlier that day and told me that he couldn't believe how they ran the facility, I honestly thought he was exaggerating. That being said, avoid this place at all cost until they get rid of this despicable person. I hope the owner sees this because I am still mind boggled by what I...
Read moreI recently visited Supercuts in Carle Place and had a terrible experience. I booked an appointment online for a minor trim before my upcoming wedding. Jeannie or Jeanette was my stylist, and though she was friendly, the result was a disaster.
I asked for a half-inch off the bottom and a slight trim for my layers. Initially, things went well with the half-inch trim. However, when she started on my layers, things went south fast. She cut way too much, despite my clear instructions to keep them long with just a small trim.
I expressed my concerns, but she insisted on "balancing" the cut on the other side, which seemed inexperienced or incorrect. I left the salon in tears.
The next day, I had to pay $100 at another salon to fix the mess. They were shocked by how bad it was. I originally wanted a minor trim but ended up losing 4 inches from the bottom and 6-7 inches from the top. My hair went from long to barely shoulder-length. I had planned to have long hair for my wedding, but now I'll need extensions.
In summary, my Supercuts Carle Place experience was a nightmare. I used to be a loyal customer, but this visit showed the risk of someone recklessly cutting your hair. I hope my review helps others reconsider a visit...
