I've been here 4 times because I was really excited for the opening and wanted to give them a fair shot. Twice for indoor dining, once for takeout, and once just for bubble tea. For indoor dining, I've built my own ramen and had the seafood ramen. Both times they've been undercooked. The food comes out very quickly, but it could use more time, and the wait would be worth it. The seafood is undercooked and not seasoned at all. It's noticeable that they aren't cooked in the broth, but boiled separately and thrown in at the end. My BYOR had an ingredient missing, but the broth was alright. I liked the option to add black garlic, it's a favorite of mine. For takeout, I had the tempura don buri bowl. The tempura shrimp was good, but the vegetables were very oily. The portions are a decent size for the price, both takeout and dine-in. For bubble tea, I had the matcha milk tea with oat milk and tapioca pearls, and it was incredibly bitter with no sweetness to it. I had to pour some of it out, add more milk, and add sweetener for it to be drinkable. For the price, very disappointing. Overall, there are much better ramen and bubble tea spots on Long Island, even if the dishes...
Read moreI would have give it 3/5 but decided to add one star due to its pricing. Lunch special comes with appetizer, entree and drink and only cost $16ish. Hardly to find a ramen place having such competitive price nowadays, usually a single bowl of ramen cost $16. You get what you pay for. I might return if I am around and would recommend this place due to its pricing.
Food - We ordered two ramens, fried udon and chicken karaage. Both ramen were not impressive, Chicken Karaage was way over fried, fried udon was surprisingly the best among the food that we ordered, not authentic Japanese yaki udon but taste good.
Service - very slow. From placing order to asking for additional service to checking out, we had had to wave several times to grab one attention, every single time we needed something. The waitstaff took our cash at check out and did not come back for the change right away, instead, she went to other two tables to take orders and came back with our change afterwards. I have no problem with waiting for the change, just don't think this flow make any sense.
Atmosphere - Spacious,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Ikedo Ramen with my family, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere when I first walked in.
I started with the short ribs as a starter and it was great. The portion size was generous, it was satisfying and left me wanting more. It was followed by the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The noodles combined with the pork and egg were amazing. It also had the perfect amount of spiciness, not too much and not too little. As a drink I had the passion fruit Strawberry drink and it was very refreshing. It had a great fruitiness and paired well with my ramen. I finished with the oreo crepe cake which was great. It is a nice light dessert with soft crepe layers with crème and hints of oreos.
Overall, Ikedo was superb, my family loved it and we left all super full unable to eat any more. If you love Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a nice ramen spot I HIGHLY recommend this place whether you are by yourself or with company. I will be coming back to try all the other options the menu...
