When I began my search for the perfect engagement ring for my now fiancé, it began like most others, online. I browsed the typical websites and found so much information it was overwhelming. I knew I had to find help, and fast (I was planning to propose in October and it was already August). After attending one of my best friends wedding and getting a look at his wife's engagement ring, I knew I had to find out who designed it. The jewelry designer was Kamni and her team at Designs by Kamni. One challenge that I was worried about was the fact that I lived in Florida and Kamni is based out of NY. I was very apprehensive at first because I wanted to be really involved in the selection of the center stone and the design process and I knew I wouldn't be able to get to NY before my planned proposal date. After contacting Kamni those apprehensions faded, she reassured me that she had designed rings for many customers who were not physically able to be present during the stone selection and design process. Despite the distance she promised to always be accessible whether through email or telephone (her response time to emails were lightning fast) to respond to any and all questions or concerns I had. I truly felt involved at every step of the design process. I informed her of my timeline and she was very reassuring that the ring would be ready by then, so we began the process right away.

I had a very limited knowledge of diamonds when we began so in that first email Kamni went over the basics of diamond selection and it helped me decide what type of stone I was looking for. After I gave her my "wish-list" for the center stone she went to work. She searched her database for stones that would fit within my wish-list and budget. She presented me with about a half a dozen options and we went back and forth several times through emails before I settled on two possible winners. She personally inspected both diamonds and sent me pictures and specifications to help me make my decision. More important than the pictures and the specs was her expert opinion on which diamond she believed to be better suited for me. With her opinion and after examining the specs I settled on a 2.01 ct princess cut diamond. Once that was completed we worked on the design of the actual band. I knew what I wanted, a halo setting in rose gold. Kamni made a suggestion that only an experienced designer could, white gold around the diamond and rose gold for the band. She explained to me that this would make the diamond shine and sparkle more brightly (she was so right). Kamni explained that the next step would be CADD renderings of the ring. She kept me in the loop the whole time by sending me photos throughout the whole process. Once I approved the CADD drawings her team began the actual process of casting the ring and setting the stone. I chose to wait until the ring arrived at my house before seeing the finished product. When I opened that box, it took my breath away and I knew it would do the same to my fiancé on the big day.

The whole process from selection to molding, to casting to finished product took a little over a week. She overnighted the ring to me and it arrived well before my proposal date so I could plan the big day with the actual ring in tow.

The experience that I had with Kamni was above and beyond any expectations I had. Wherever my fiancé and I go we always get compliments on how stunning the ring looks and I always say I had the best designer I could possibly ask for.

I cannot wait to work with Kamni again in the near future when we have our wedding bands designed by her and her team.

My boyfriend, at the time, and I decided to pick the perfect engagement ring together to make sure I got the design I wanted and the diamond he wanted in his budget. We started the process with going into retail jewelry stores at the mall to get ideas and try stuff on but saw a lot of the same styles at outrageous prices. Being that we lovee e-commerce, we decided to take our search to the internet! After looking at a lot of leading online bridal retailers we stumbled across Designs By Kamni. I filled out the "get started" form on her website and received a response within the same day. Kamni and I went back and forth through emails sharing images and ideas of what aspects I liked on different rings. Kamni understood exactly what I wanted, she then worked with my fiancé, without my involvement in selecting the center diamond. She educated him on the "4 Cs" and gave her recommendations on what he should go for given his budget. Being that we live in Georgia and Kamni was in New York, she sent him images and videos of diamonds to select from and even showed him a comparison of 5 stones side by side in different angles. Once the diamond was selected, Kamni put me and my fiancé on the same email thread and shared pre-production renderings of the custom setting to get an idea of what was being made. I remember opening that email and having butterflies in my stomach. Kamni knew what I wanted more than I did... it exceeded my expectations and really was something so beautiful. Once we approved the rendering, she went back to discussing the timing, details, and logistics with my fiancé, separately. I had no idea when I was going to be proposed to or any details on how large the center stone was or its color and clarity... I just knew, in the near future I was getting a beautiful custom made engagement ring that I would truly love. I've been engaged for a month now and have received so so so many compliments on this beautiful crafted engagement ring. Kamni is and will be my go to jeweler going forward. We are currently working on a custom made pendant. Kamni is flexible and can be reach via email, text or phone, she replies quick and always keeps you in the loop of the process and time frame to expect custom items in. I was introduced to Kamni through my uncle as our families are friends. My family has been going to Kamni and her family for all our jewelry purchases for decades. I met with her initially before I got engaged and gave her an idea of the style ring that I had in mind and how I wanted it to be something unique.

I put my boyfriend at the time (husband now) in touch with Kamni and let him work with her on the custom design of my wedding band and engagement ring. The outcome was beyond what I could have ever dreamt up myself. Every person who saw my ring complemented just how beautiful it was and said that they had never seen a ring like it before. He ended up designing a cushion cut engagement ring with pink diamond accents on each side! My husband brought my best friend, his mother to meet with Kamni and make the ring as perfect and special as it is. Their involvement in the process made the ring all the more special and unique.

Since the engagement, Kamni has been easy to communicate with for any and all questions. I needed my wedding band adjusted and was able to meet with Kamni and have it taken care of quickly.

Through the process of getting the rings, I saw different pieces that Kamni designed on her Instagram and at their store. She has great style and her pieces capture her impeccable sense of style. So when I had to get thank-you gifts for my maids of honor, there was no question that I was going to work with Kamni to design custom bracelets for 2 of my closest friends. We incorporated their birthstones and Kamni even met me in the city in which I live when I couldn't make it to her office due to work restrictions.

Being an attorney, my work and my hours kept me from responding back to Kamni in a timely manner at times; however, Kamni understood my situation and always made sure to be proactive about the process and very on top of her follow ups.

Working with Kamni has been an amazing experience. I trust her judgment about the design of a piece and certainly about the quality of the jewelry that I am purchasing.
