Cold Spring Cheese Shop — Local services in Town of Philipstown

I loved my trip to cold spring cheese! I had one of the specials that were too die for! The brie was so excellent and gooey, not like the grocery store-bought kind that has no flavor. After talking to one of the owners, I could tell this store is more than just a labor of love; it's a mission!! The cheese is all NY sourced, and eating here was spring many small businesses in one visit! There are some top-quality cheeses you can't find in the average grocery store, and the owner was happy to talk about it. The pickles were such a treat on the Mac and cheese that I will certainly be going back for. The shop is a queer safe space accepting me for me and making me feel comfortable sending any friends here. I loved every second of my visit and even went back for more before hitting the bookstore across the street. Who could ask for...

Original post: Extremely rude service, especially the guy with the glasses and baseball cap! I simply asked if I could pay for added arugula to a sandwich and he rudely said that we ‘don’t do customizations’. I really didn’t think it was a big deal since most, if not all, of their sandwiches had arugula. Instead, he said to order another sandwich that had arugula on it and that I would have to add a meat, which is essentially the same concept as adding arugula. My time at Cold Spring was a little bittersweet. Many of the places I visited were either a hit-or-miss, but luckily this establishment was one of the good ones.

They had a ton of cheese options and a pretty nice selection of meats and fruit preserves. I bought a few things here like a bottled iced tea, bag of Torres black truffle potato chips, and the mozzarella w/ fig jam sandwich which was fantastic.

They seemed to be too busy to provide samples when I came here this past Saturday with a lot of other NYC tourists, but it would've been great to try some of the cheese options because I probably would've bought a few types, but I'm still happy I went and at least tried a sandwich.
