I’d like to preface this review by expressing my understanding that this is a new restaurant and so there will be hiccups and bumps while they get started.
My partner and I decided to eat here because of the intriguing menu but noticed they were busy on that particular day. We asked how long it would be to be seated inside and were told we could be seated right then (amazing!).
However, this actually meant we could be sitting at a table with no bar menu and NO WATER for 30 minutes before our server stopped by. I had already decided to order the fettuccine with Alfredo and chicken, while my partner got the rib eye steak. I was upset about the water situation (it was an 85degree day) but I was excited for the food.
It took another 20minutes before we asked our server how much longer for the food and he replied 5min, 10 at most. Great! We were starving. The food comes out and immediately I noticed the steak was grey, grey like it had been sous vide or frozen or something. Terribly thin and unappealing with grill hatchmarks that looked painted on. But I don’t like steak at the best of times so glad it wasn’t for me.
The fettuccine Alfredo looked good but that was where its performance ended. The dish had no flavor, no seasoning. We paid $8 to add chicken and there was barely a whole chicken breast in the dish. The meat was full of fat and unappetizing. The Alfredo sauce was begging for a dash of nutmeg and less butter maybe? It tasted like I was eating butter noodles, and I had to salt the dish myself.
The owner was very receptive to the critiques and took my dish off the meal since I couldn't eat it. However, we noticed other tables also sending back food during our ample time spent waiting for ours.
Finally, two notes. We fought with multiple flies during our time spent in the cafe. They have AC but kept the front windows ajar. I’m not looking to be shooing insects from my table for an hour in addition to poor service. It should also be noted that the table to our right turned over about halfway through. Two older women were seated there. And were PROMPTLY given water and attended to within seconds of being seated. By THREE employees. I’m not sure if our waiting so long to be served was because we were a young couple or two POC, but it was incredibly frustrating to watch other diners receive startlingly better service.
Perhaps we simply ordered the wrong menu items for an enjoyable experience but we will not...

Read moreThe food was a big miss here. Was visiting cold springs with a couple friends and we decided to get brunch Cozy Corner Cafe - it had a swarm of people around waiting to be seated. The wait was 45 min which we were okay with. We walked around main st for a bit before we came back and got seated
Wait staff was nice and alert. We sat outside on the side so away from all the noise up front and the crowdedness inside. It was a bit on the chillier side and with the leafs falling, a couple did land on our plates not a big deal.
Stepped inside to use the bathroom once and they only have one bathroom - wait was about 5-10 min. Plan accordingly
Now for the food which is the driver here. We got the provoleta which had a good taste but for some reason - the cheese was squeaky. Not sure how or if that makes sense but each bit we took we heard it felt like it was squeaking. never experienced this before. The toasts that came with it was seasoned which was nice.
For the mains, I got the ribeye with a side of mash potatoes, veggies, and got an extra side of fries. My friends got the chicken pesto sandwich and wild bacon burger.
My rib eye was not a ribeye. I don’t even know what cut it was but it was tough and flavorless. I asked for medium rare and it was blue. Ate whatever was edible from around the side. The mash potatoes and veggies were okay at best. Lacked seasoning outside of the salt and pepper on the table. Fries were good tho. My friends chicken pesto sandwich was not worth the $17 he paid for it. Had a single thin slice of chicken cutlet with a very light drizzle of pesto and arugula. The wild bacon burger was also subpar at best. The cheese was cold and the bacon was undercooked. She asked for medium rare and it was beyond well done.
Our drinks were not any better. Coffee ordered was cold and tasted like instant coffee.
Giving 2 stars for the staff and cuteness inside but don’t go for the food
Overall: go for the pizza across the street -...
