Shoddy, damaged goods, rude, dunderheaded staff and overpriced. Not worth the drive or the dollars. That was my experience.

They tried to sell me a coffee table with about a dozen significant scratches marring the center and more around the edges for $100 MORE than what I had seen it for there a week before (undamaged). The staff were quite curt and snippy about it. When I questioned them, I was told that management didn't want to mark it down at all? Really? Selling damaged goods for full price?

Buyer beware. The veneer of customer service and quality is thin here. I had purchased furniture before and recommended the store for years. Not again.

I drove two hours to get there, largely because I support small businesses.The exact same table is easily available online for less. It's not hard to find. You can press a button without the attitude from staff.

I did not go there looking for a discount. I would have been happy to pay full price for a quality piece of undamaged furniture. Unfortunately that is not what...

Rhonda and the staff at Hammertown Rhinebeck are exceptional. I have been shopping here and at the barn in pine plains for over 20 years. I always enjoy wondering around the store to see what is new, how they decorate, and honestly it’s a moment of relaxation. Everything is so beautiful! There is always something that catches my eye that I must bring home. Most recently I ordered a sofa with the help of Rhonda. She always has great ideas and has been very helpful with decorating ideas. There are visits to the store where I can see they are busy and I wait to ask questions another time or send her an email. Never in the 20+ years have I ever had a bad experience. I am so thankful for Rhonda and her staff and that we have such a beautiful store...

My husband and I purchased some lovely items today, but I agree about the customer service lacking with one particular employee at this location. Second time visiting this location (and purchasing items) and second time this person has been quite rude and cold, which was especially jarring after we just spent our money there. I don't think I'll be going back to this location again but will stick with the Pine Plains barn location if I do decide to shop there again. Much better customer service...
