This gym is thr best gym ive been to, and ive been to many. The classes and instructers are amazing, child care with miss joyce is second to none. Ive been going to golds 5 times a week or so since 2014. Some of these one star reviews are ridiculous. This gym is clean, if something us broken it is fixed usually the same day! There are 2 janitors and ive seen them going around wiping down the machines. When i asked about cancellation policy if you move far away all you have to do is send a certified letter stating your new address and you can cancel your membership. The general manager, elissa, is one of the best managers ive ever met and she is extremely reasonable and approachable. Majority of the staff is wonderful, cheerful, and helpful. The smoothies are the BEST! Oh and to address the comment about "not being allowed to go upstairs when classes are going on which is often"... a class goes on upstairs called team at 830 and 930 a few times a week in the mornings and one hour several weekday nights. You can still use the treadmills, only the small circuit trx area is off limits during this short time when the class is in session. If you refer a friend to join, you get a free month! I cant say enough good things...
Read moreGold’s gym is a great facility with nice owners, but they have an immature, standoff-ish, and unhelpful young man Nick working the front desk. I had a terrible experience getting my membership reactivated after being away. Prices have increased from $25/mo to $45/mo for a one month stint which I did not know about, and instead of explaining, Nick was very impatient and rude. He did not explain the process, guide the customer to the computer, nor attempt to be helpful. I explained the previous older owner of the gym had helped me last time and that I’d love to talk to him again to explore options, but nick replied with an entitled attitude and spoke minimally, and without further prodding from me I would not have learned about other plans/options. He is unapproachable and unwilling to be helpful—he is condescending. There is a long way to go for him to learn how to talk to others and how to be helpful. I am also similar in age to him but know better than to treat people that way. Typically folks at the front desk of Gold’s are very kind...
Read moreI been going to Gold's since the day they opened now hate it equipment breaks takes forever for them to fix it. classes were great until they cut the Tuesday's night kickboxing class that I look so forward to now its gone thanks to the management and who ever owns the freaking gym. I find them to be worst they don't care about the members who pay so much money for membership i go back and fourth between la fitness, that has the best equipment and go to gold's that has the best classes but now that all change. Will be going back soon to La Fitness. And Gold's wants us to invite friends or family for the month of Sept. for free classes why should we. Oh, and other thing NYS Club, charges $19.95 per month w/50 free classes something to think about. As a member of Gold's the management should be thinking about saving the Gym not cutting the classes that we pay for...
