Yesterday I had the unfortunate experience of dining at Tutto and I must say that it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. Not only was the wait excessively long. Even though I had a reservation, but the behavior of the manager left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was informed of that they were running a bit behind. While I understand that busy establishments can have delays, an hour-long wait seemed excessive and poorly managed. The lack of effective communication and organization made the wait feel even longer and more frustrating.
To make matters worse, the manager's attitude towards the situation was nothing short of rude and dismissive. When approached for an update or to express our concerns, the manager Jen displayed an utter lack of empathy and professionalism. Instead of addressing our valid concerns, we were met with condescending remarks( “sorry I don’t know how I would feel if I was in your shoes because I’m not” and “sorry that you feel that way”) and an overall apathetic demeanor. This behavior only exacerbated the frustration and disappointment we felt.
When we finally got seated, the overall dining experience failed to compensate for the arduous wait. The quality of the food was average at best, and the service lacked the attentiveness and warmth one would expect. It was evident that the staff, likely influenced by the manager's behavior, were disengaged and disinterested in providing a memorable dining experience.
A long wait can be forgivable if the restaurant makes efforts to rectify the situation and deliver exceptional service. However, the combination of an hour-long wait and a rude manager creates an atmosphere of discomfort and dissatisfaction. It is disheartening when a restaurant of this caliber fails to value its customers and prioritize their experience, especially when they invest their time and money into dining there.
I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone based on my experience. The excessive wait time coupled with the unprofessional behavior of the manager resulted in an unpleasant dining experience. I hope that Jen is able to find these notes “productive” ( one of her responses while I tried to voice my concerns, where that the conversation was unproductive) enough to makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable experience for...
Read moreMy recent experience at Tutti il Giorno left me astounded at the utter lack of hospitality, especially considering the managerial oversight. Sam, the manager, previously worked under me at the Cheesecake Factory in White Plains, NY, and it’s clear that my mentorship didn’t stick. His understanding of basic hospitality is alarmingly inadequate.
We booked two tables for 5:15 and 5:45 because, shockingly, they don’t accept reservations for larger groups online, and good luck getting anyone on the phone. On the day of our visit, July 5, we called repeatedly to request that our tables be next to each other. We were told that such a promise couldn’t be made.
When we arrived, we were seated one table apart, with the table in between us sat just moments earlier and not even having menus when we arrived. Each table around us was open and available. I proposed a simple solution: offer the two-top between us a complimentary round of drinks, on us, in exchange to simply move one table down. Sam flatly refused and even forbade me from directly approaching the other guests about it.
When I escalated my concerns to the general manager, Jennifer, she provided absolutely no solutions or credible reasons for the lack of accommodation. “Hospitality is dead!” could not be more apt in describing this establishment. The days of catering to guests and fostering a welcoming environment seem to be long gone. A simple act of courtesy—one that could have fostered social connections between our groups—was ruined because of Sam and Jennifer's incompetence.
While the food was excellent and the service good, the experience was marred by a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Complimented by high prices and small portions will be the reason I will not be returning to...
Read moreNice decor, I appreciate that the tables were spread. We waited 30 min for table which is totally fine since we didn’t have a reservation. They were accommodating. The food is ok. I ordered pasta with seafood. Seafood seemed fresh and well cooked, some pieces of pasta were al dente but some definitely undercooked. The souce was very watered with lots of olive oil and few spoons of tomato sauce it was pretty hard to eat it since it was more like a seafood soup but with no spoon to use. The service is a piece of work. If they want to be a real Italian restaurant they have so much to learn. There was a sweet lady who was cleaning tables and it seemed like no one was helping her! There was no team work. Our waiter didn’t do her job. We had to ask for everything: salt, pepper, lemon for seafood, bread, water, etc. however the check arrived before our dessert was served! How rude!!! My friend ordered cappuccino and they must make a mistake because they brought espresso with little milk on the side when she said that is not what she ordered he went back and brought the same espresso in bigger cup and with this little amount of milk already inside the cup (without any foam!!) We were shocked we obviously know how cappuccino looks like and if the person at the bar who was making it was too lazy to do it they should just say they don’t serve cappuccino. That was probably the only Italian restaurant in the entire world that is unable to serve cappuccino. Pretty embarrassing! I wanted give 2 stars but gave 3 because it seemed like manager and 2 other stuff members cared about...
