Home Depot and Behr a losing combination! I visited Home Depot Victor to buy power wash detergent for my power washer. Since they moved things around I had to ask in the paint department. An eager young man brought me directly to Behr Wash product and extolled it virtues and performance!
Here is my review I left for Behr on their site: Product recommended by Victor NY Home Depot Paint Dept. It did not work so I returned it to get deck wash for my power washer. On the Behr Bottle it aays " More Effective Than Power Washing" do not believe it. Home Depot REFUSED to Refund me since the bottle was empty, duh? Protested to the Manager Mike? who dumped me at the paint dept where the BEHR Factory Rep was hanging out and told him he had a complaint, The Behr Rep said "dont bring him to me" The Behr Rep pointed out the phone number on their bottle for me to call. I told him I already wasted a morning with the useless product and did not want to spend moe time on hold explaing to another Behr employee. He told me to take the Bottle and go! I told him to keep the bottle and I was done with any future Behr products. He said you can threaten me all you like. If this guy was my factory rep I would have fired him on the spot. As a Rep for another industry I have neve treated a customer no matter how angry like this. This entire episode reflected poorly on Home Depot and Behr. I left and bought my deck wash at the new Ace Hardware location, Thanks Behr and Home Depot for the worst examples of customer service i have experienced. Over to Lowes and Ace. for a refused $12 refund. Before you ask I followed the instructions on the bottle! UPDATE While Behr refused to post my review read here it did prompt their customer service to reach out to offer a refund, provided I supply a copy of the receipt. In addition they offered 4-5 gallons of Behr paint products when I know what I want and need. Since I hire my painting work I don’t see a need for the paint. Recieved an email today that my refund check is in the mail. I continue to use Lowes and local Ace store. HD never responded to...
Read moreSince moving here, I've gone to this Home Depot location for about a year. My review reflects the customer service at the Victor location only. The reason my rating is one star is that I have been going to various Home Depots across the country for most of my adult life and at every other location I have had a much better experience.
After a year of second, third, and "umpteenth" chances, I've come to understand that the customer service problems are just a part of whatever their hiring process is. Many of the people who work here really seem like they don't want to be there, and subtly take it out on customers. Exactly two employees are what I would call Home Depot standard -- helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. But, two employees can't carry an entire Home Depot. Aside from them, nobody knows where anything is, nobody is able to help with finding solutions to problems you have, and everyone's vaguely irritated that you have questions at all. This applies to people who answer the phones to people who are on the floor, from the isles to the registers.
I had another bad experience today, and that's basically the last straw. I won't bother with the details, only because were it the first time something like this happened, it would have been minor, and I would have simply let it roll off my shoulders. But, in aggregate, having this same experience over and over again, you eventually accept that there's a pattern here, and I choose to no longer be subjected to it anymore.
The location in Henrietta is far better than this one. It's a farther drive for me, personally, but it's now...
Read moreUpdate 4/26. The corporate office and store leadership reached out this morning to rectify the issue. They will be delivering the mulch today. I appreciate the speedy response. Thank you for making this right.
4/25. I was making a return in the customer service area and asked if I was able to go into the garden section to pick up mulch. It looked gated up. They told me that if I wanted mulch I should pull up outside and they would charge me there and load my vehicle. I asked "are you sure? There was nobody out there manning the mulch line." They assured me that they would call someone over.
I left and pulled up to the mulch line which now had an attendant. I asked for 15 bags of red mulch. He asked for my recipet amd i told him i was instructed to pay outside. He told me that he could not take the order outside since the garden section was closed with no cashier. I asked if I could leave my car and go inside to pay.
I went back inside and paid for 15 bags of mulch for pickup outside and they gave me the receipt. I returned to my car (several other cars were now picking up mulch). When my turn came up again I handed him my receipt. He told me that red mulch was unavailable at the mulch line and that I would have to get it inside the garden area (which again was gated off). I asked him of he could talk to his coworkers to straighten this all out. He refused. He said that he was not going to talk to anybody about it and that there was "nothing he could do".
So I had paid for 15 bags of mulch and received 0 and was told there was nothing that...
