DICK'S Sporting Goods — Local services in Town of Wallkill

Worst Dick’s we’ve ever been to. My husband and I bought a kayak, and we needed help safely strapping it onto our car (it was our first time buying a kayak and we live an hour away). When we called, a woman answered and said they would definitely help us and not to worry. When we got there, we asked for help but two workers were so stand off ish / impatient and didn’t give us ANY helpful info (what straps to buy, what paddles to get, etc.). They also said they could only put it on the top of the car, but not touch anything / help us strap it in. We said we understood the liability issue, but nicely asked for him to just orally walk us through the process / confirm that it was done correctly and safely. He simply said, “just strap it in” and walked away. We spent an hour in the parking lot trying to figure it out. Every time I'm in this store, the staff is either nowhere to be found or is rude, miserable, or socially inept to the point where I'm uncomfortable even conversing with them. This isn't some exception, it's not some cluster of experiences that happened in a limited period of time. This experience goes back decades. I had the same experience here as a child with my parents as I did the other day visiting the store as an adult. Frankly, I don't know how this location stays open. Out of the few times I've been here, I can't remember waiting on line to check out. There are never any customers. Did they sign a 20-year lease on this location? Or is somebody in upper-management not paying attention? I'm giving the store 2/5 stars instead of 1/5 because the location is consistently clean, reasonably organized, and the one time I had to return something, it was done quickly and...

Had to go there to pick up an in-store item that my grandson needed before school and it was 903. The store was not opened yet which stated it was opened at nine. I was knocking on the window because there was two employees just standing there. They looked at one another and laughed, and then the so-called manager Kevin came and said that I was at the wrong door and that I needed to go around the outside when he could of just opened the door, when I was done there, I called corporate and complained about this so-called manager, Kevin and the two employees and never heard anything back from them.
