So I love cheese and look for cheese shops on all of my vacations. When I read about this store I put it on my list of places to visit. While time was running short on our last day in Traverse City, I made it a point to visit the store and am really glad that I did. The shop itself is more than just a store selling cheese. They have so many cool gift items that support the pleasure of sharing cheese with others, it is cool. I would love to have a store like this to put together gift baskets in.
We shared with the staff that we loved cheese and were seeking some suggestions about where to start. We told them about our favorite cheeses and they made some suggestions. There were also non-food items (like kitchen towels or collectable kitsch), but again, most of it was stuff you could find at any place that sells tourist stuff.
Again, possibly we showed up on an off day/week, but I had planned to buy some cheeses that were new to us and we ended up not buying anything.
Store was clean and decently well organized on the inside (outside looked like an older white house). Assuming my visit was typical, probably a decent enough place to visit if you're not looking for anything too unique to purchase (either food...
