I'm a native local and have always LOVED bay bread! They're bread products are the BEST and the Cafe selections are amazing as well.
With that being said... You REALLY need to work on your customer service. I work for a local independent business who supports local business and buys staff lunch on Saturdays. Today we chose Bay Bread... I called in my 7 person order and was met with annoyance on the phone to start. I apologized for placing an order (which I shouldn't have had to) and silence on the other end. I tried to pay over the phone and she didn't put me on hold before also being annoyed and complaining about that to whoever else and I could hear it so again I apologized with nothing in return. There was also a few other "annoyances" I was apparently making for her that she stressed over the phone.
Upon picking up, I expressed my apologies again and how it was a little rude on the phone and the woman ringing me up was equally as rude. I hate leaving negative reviews but upon looking at the reviews it seems this is a COMMON occurrence here. Everyone loves your food but your front end employees are just not friendly or helpful or thankful for your customers that keep you going. I see as an owner you've replied multiple times that this never happens but obviously it continues. I will probably be back again but not for a while. I'll buy your bread from the grocery store instead of being met with hostility and annoyance from stopping in. That's disappointing because again, I am a HUGE supporter of local businesses but local business are normally know for their kindness and this is something your staff...
Read moreI have never written a review before. Unfortunately my experience here was bad enough I felt the need to do this. This most recent time my mom and I both ordered grilled sandwiches. The lady at the counter told us they didn't use butter on their grilled sandwiches. We trusted her and ordered them anyways. Took about 20 minutes for them to make our sandwiches which seems excessive. When we finally got our sandwiches the bread was ROCK hard. It was painful to eat but I'm normally not a complainer so I chocked it down since the turkey, ham, and toppings were good. The bread was so hard it cut the inside of our mouths up. I went asked the lady at the counter about the grilling process and let her know our bread was so hard that it cut our mouths up. She stated their panini press is not made for butter so they don't use it (who makes a panini without butter????) so I said okay but the bread on our sandwiches was almost too hard to eat. She continued putting cookies on a tray and shrugged me off. Poor customer service, average sandwiches, nonsensical grilling process. I will never go to Bay Bread again and I will be telling everyone I know about my poor experience and the poor manner in which it...
Read moreStopped in at 8 am for a loaf of bread. The women at the counter appeared bothered that I walked in the door and didn’t offer any greeting. I selected some cookies off the day old sweets rack and approached the counter to ask about a loaf of the harvest wheat. They had very few items on the shelves behind them and items on the counter that they were bagging up. When I asked about the loaf, one of the women said they wouldn’t have a harvest wheat until 2 pm as it’s the last item made that day. I guess I’m used to bakeries that have been baking overnight so they have product available for purchase in the morning. I was put off by the perception that I was irritating the staff so I left without purchasing anything. The food looked good and it smelled amazing but the irritation of the counter workers lost a customer.
To Bay Bread Company owner: yes, my visit was this morning. I appreciate the acknowledgment of...
