I am not sure where to begin so I guess Iâll start at the beginning. My daughter approached my wife and I and did one of the most courageous acts a child can do by facing her parents and admitted she has a problem and asked for help. I was devastated, relieved and proud simultaneously. We immediately began the process of researching and inquiring into rehabilitation facilities. A friend of hers gave a referral of a positive experience which lead us to call Footprints Beachside Recovery. We began by talking to Phil who made us feel right at ease; it was obvious that he is someone who understands, is experienced, and was ready to help get our daughter the help and support she needed. He was responsive and knew exactly what to say to me and had a one-on-one with my daughter over the phone to give her an opportunity to express her issues first hand without being concerned that her parents were listening in. Of course we wanted the best for our daughter but the costs were a concern as they would be for most families. Phil took my insurance information and took control. He did all the homework for me and as it turned out between my insurance and Footprints ownershipâs willingness to be flexible our daughter was reserved a spot and shortly scheduled to arrive. I can't express the feeling of relief knowing that this part of the long road to recovery for my daughter was resolved. I am not going to tell you that the road that lay ahead did not come without bumps and unexpected challenges, my child suffered through an intense detoxification process and an extended period of illness symptoms but her strength, fortitude and the Footprintâs support system got her out of the dark tunnel and ready to dedicate herself to the road to good health. Those of you facing similar circumstances now I assure you that you should not hesitate and call them up because once my daughter arrived as an inpatient she found an experienced and dedicated staff, extremely comfortable accommodations, professional therapy services (both individual and group), a supportive community and a weekly itinerary that encourages the concentration on a patient's sobriety. We are so proud of our daughter as she is now many months sober, has found a like-minded community of friends and is busy making her life her top priority. We realize she could not have done this alone and we thank John Templetonâs Footprints Beachside Recovery and his entire staff profusely. How can words express our gratitude and appreciation for my beloved child finding the right place, with the right staff, and ultimately in good physical and mental health!! It's been an absolutely life changing experience for my entire family. I used to think my daughter was happy, i was fooling myself, now she is happy and you can see and enjoy...
Read moreI guess the best place to start is from the very beginning. I am a 52 year old women that is a wife, mother of four, 21, 18, 10 year old twins and a grandmother of 2. I have been suffering with my alcoholism for way too long! I had tried another treatment facility here in the Pittsburgh area about 10 years ago. Unfortunately It hadn't worked for me there. My life had become so unmanageable that I was going to lose my life or all the people in my life that I cared for so much. I started my quest on looking for a rehab facility on the internet. I had come across Footprints Beachside Recovery. After making the initial call and speaking to Phil on the phone, I already felt a little more at ease. It took me a few more calls to ask Phil any questions I had that day and he got right back to me and had an answer for me that I could feel good about. I was making a very hard decision to go to this rehab because it was 1200 miles from home and I had to leave my family. I had the pleasure of speaking to John on the phone and he sealed the deal for me. I arrived there on January 25 2017, and began one of the greatest journey's of my life! From my intake with Phil and Maggie, to my coin out it was an emotional experience. One of pure fear and one of great hope! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at Footprints. Everyone is so professional. And to have people treat you with dignity and respect when you are going through treatment is an exceptional feeling. Because I can say when I entered Footprints I was completely broken and empty. I loved that it was a small facility, so that I really fealt i didn't get lost in the shuffle. All of the counselors are so knowledgeable in the addiction field. They each had a way of making you feel like each group was about you. Each one of the clients took something away from each group. They made me realize I have a disease and it can be managed with all the great tools that they have given me. It is so wonderful to know that I can be happy in my life today. I know it would not have been possible if it weren't for everyone in the footprints family! I can't believe how they made me feel welcomed, loved, and unconditionally accepted! With all the hard work we put into our days, they also make sure we know what it's like to have fun and laugh completely sober. I have to add that being at the beach wasn't so bad either. These are the best group of addiction specialists you ever wanted to meet! I will be forever grateful for everything that they have helped me accomplish. I never had 100 days go by so quickly! They are in my heart on a daily basis! I miss my home away from home! My...
Read moreAmazing experience and has truly changed my life! I have waited to leave this review and now that I have almost 1 year sober I feel like it's the right time. I traveled from Kansas after my wife found this place from a friend that had gone and it was worth the trip! The staff here is amazing. They truly care about you as a person and do that for everyone that walks in the door! One reason for that is that there isn't 100 people there at once and you become just another number and some money. They keep the groups small which ensures you are getting all the attention and care you need! The way they do everything has had such a lasting and changing effect on me! Individual sessions with my one on one counselor were extremely helpful! Then the group sessions with different counselors and different perspectives with different topics were amazing! They really understand what is needed for a good recovery and lasting recovery. They do everything they can to not only keep you sober while you are there but more importantly help prepare you for when you get back out in the real world again! I also feel like I should comment on the facility and lifestyle things as that is something I looked for before coming. While it's not the most important part of treatment it did kind of help ease me when I got there. The treatment facility is nice and clean along with the house I stayed in. The way they operated made me feel like I was never locked up or caged in. They give you some freedom which I feel is important because it helped prepare me for when I got out. You get options like yoga and gym time to help get you physically and mentally healthy! They also do extracurricular activities that help show you that you can have fun sober! I could go on forever about how great this place is and what it has done for me. I would not be where I'm at today with out Footprints! To this day I still use what I learned in my time there and will continue to do so as it has helped keep me sober to this point! I don't think there is another place out there that can compare to Footprints and I highly recommend it to anyone that is ready...
