I went into this GameStop with a PS4 controller I bought brand new 5 months ago. I was in the process of being told they couldnāt do anything for me that they only offer a 30 day warranty on an item I paid almost $100 for. As one could understand I was not to happy and starting to get rude with the other associate. Not something Iām proud of but Iām only human. The store manager, Shaun, I donāt know his last name but he has an epic beard so you will know him if you see him. Shaun, handled the situation like a true professional would handle an irate customer, he told me even though itās made clear that they only offer 30 day warranties on controllers, that he was going to help me out. I wonāt say exactly what he did but needless to say I walked out happy and extremely impressed with him. Thanks Shaun, your a true example of how all chain stores should hire and how managers should act. I am always impressed with how personable GameStop employees are and how it seems every one of them are literally video game encyclopedias that truly enjoy helping the customer. GameStop itself is also a great example of how to keep your customers happy by hiring good people who are knowledgeable about the product they sell. In short, GameStop never feels like your typical chain store and the people that work there always are knowledgeable and friendly. I am a long time customer and will continue to be, not just because of employees like Shaun, but because GameStop truly is a great store and truly the only place anyone should buy anything video game related. 3.7 stars is a ridiculous rating for this store, havenāt read the bad reviews but trust me, Iām sure they are nit picking and from people who have never took the time to write a good review but always have time...

While some of the staff have always been pleasant and helpful in the past, my experience on this particular occasion was entirely unacceptable and frankly, concerning. I called to inquire about the status of a PSA submission if it came in or not and (I donāt have access to my GameStop account or I would check myself) I was greeted by a staff member I had interacted with previously. From the start, he exhibited an attitude that suggested he had little interest in assisting me. He immediately dismissed my inquiry by saying, āCall back tomorrow when my manager is here,ā with no further explanation or willingness to help. This response was not only unprofessional but also lacked any effort to provide basic customer service. What was particularly troubling was the fact that I had dealt with this employee before and knew he had access to the necessary tools and resources to assist me, including a key to open the locked drawer where orders of cards could be checked. When I reminded him of this, based on our past interaction, he seemed uninterested and unwilling to even check for the information I needed. I was disappointed by his attitude and the lack of initiative he demonstrated, especially given that this was a simple task that he had previously completed without issue. They told us to return to our local store for a return/replace so we go to this location per their instructions over the phone and the email says the same thing. The āassistant managerā says they wonāt honor customer serviceās promise despite it being in writing and claim we are attempting to defraud the store. When asked for a manager the āassistant managerā said they donāt have oneā¦then he said they do but heās just not there. Wonāt provide a schedule to speak to said manager bc he doesnāt know when theyāll be in the store again. Then refuses to provide information for a GM or any higher management. Tells us to take it up with corporate customer service, who tells me that the store is in violation of corporate policy and they would be reported but that now we would have to ship the incorrect item back to the warehouse and get a replacement which will take an additional 2 weeks or more because this guy refused to do his job.
