Terrible customer service. Untimely. Horrible communication. Rude.
I dropped my phone off on a Saturday. The store called a couple of minutes before they closed and left a voicemail. It was too late to respond. They closed their business on Sunday due to weather but did not call or send any notifications to customers. On Monday, my wife called throughout the day and was placed on hold for long periods of time.
The lack of communication and overall common courtesy set a negative tone in the first place. Admittedly, I was agitated with the terrible customer service. I went to pick up the phone on Monday evening. They stated that the phone had water damage and they could not provide a warranty for their work.
They provided two options of payment to pick up my phone:
Option 1: Pay them $50 to get my phone with no work done. A diagnostic fee per se. Option 2: Pay them $119 for them to replace the charging port but they will not warrant their work AND they needed to erase all data from the phone.
Neither option was acceptable as I expected to pick up a repaired phone AND retain my data given their inability to provide a warranty. Naturally, I was unhappy with my options and was attempting to provide my perspective. The issue escalated when Angela asked a coworker to get a Tulsa Police Officer and insinuated that I was going to steal my own phone and not pay for the repair. The truth is Angela was demanding I unlock my phone so she could erase the data. When I powered my phone off and refused to allow her to erase the data, it was then that she wanted to get the police involved. There were police officers outside of the business ushering away the homeless when Angela requested the Police. I stepped outside and got the Police to come back inside to hear the dispute. The Police did not take sides and told me that I could take the business to small claims court to resolve the issue if necessary. TPD, nor myself, understood the business model or demands that the phone had to be tested despite not guaranteeing the work.
When I escalated the issue to management, nothing changed. When I requested information regarding store ownership, the evening manager refused.
At the end of this debacle, they did erase all data from my phone. They did not warranty their work and they've asked me not to return to the business-an action I'd recommend for everyone reading this comment.
I cannot recommend uBreakiFix. I will be taking my business to Phone Doctors. The customer service at this location is shameful. If this business fails, it will be because of rude staff like Angela and their overall inability to communicate. Do business here with caution OR do as others have recommended to me and use...
Read moreWe have AT&T and pay for mobile insurance through them. We filed a claim with Asurion for my sons phone because the battery was no longer holding a charge. They scheduled an appointment at this location. My son brought his phone in on 4/14 they said it would be ready the next day. We called on Friday night 4/15 and they said it wouldn't be ready until Saturday 4/16, since the battery they tried was damaged and they needed to order a new one. We didn’t hear from them at all. I ended up calling them Saturday at 6:00pm the worker there said he didn’t know when the phone would be ready nor did he know where the phone was because he had been off. I asked him to put someone that had been working and knew about my sons phone. A lady got on the line and said the battery they had ordered had not arrived and that they would have it ready on Monday 4/18. When my son picked it up on Monday the battery had been replaced but they had damaged the screen & didn't even bother to say anything until my son said something to them. The person helping my son asked the workers they said “oh yeah we accidentally broke the screen but we will fix it for free” he said bring it back on the 4/21 and he should have the screen in and be able to fix it. My son went in on 4/22 and they said they didn't have the parts to fix it in yet that they would call, but they never called. We went in on Sunday the 24th and waited almost an hour and they told us they didn't have time to come back another day. We finally got it fixed on 4/26. Although, they did the right thing and fixed it the customers service wasn't great. There was 0 communication from the store agents when something went wrong. They gave my son the phone expecting him to not see the broken screen? Idk what if he would of left and not noticed. Seems a little shady. Communication is key!! We are all humans we all make mistakes just call and tell us whats going on. I understand employees probably don’t care but im sure...
Read moreWalked in without an appointment, didn't realize I needed one, and waited briefly for a gentleman to appear from the back and I quote, "What do you need?" Obviously I had interrupted something. I explained my phone was not charging normally and wondered if it was my cord or the charge port on phone. He plugged in his charge cord and said,"It looks like the port might just be dirty, if you can wait a little bit for $30 I can clean it" I chuckled a little thinking he was pulling my leg and yet when I looked at his face he was dead serious. I left without paying $30 to clean the charge port, that's ridiculous!!!! I drove around the corner, litterly 30 seconds from this location to a Phone Dr and was friendly greeted by 2 employees with a smile asking "How can we help you today?" I described my issue, the employee did the same thing and said the same thing, the difference was he said,"let's clean it real quick and see if that's all it is, can I have a couple of minutes to clean it?" I said, "sure as long as it doesn't cost me $30" he looked at me like I was on drugs. 2 minutes later he comes back, my entire phone and OtterBox look brand new. I asked him what I owed and he said,"I spent a couple of minutes cleaning your phone up, I can't charge you for that" That's customer service and integrity, he didn't know me from Adam, I had never spent a dime there that he knew of but I promise he will never forget me for what I gave him as a "tip". You have no idea what your greed and lack of service cost you today but your "competition" around the corner is going to reap the benefits 10 fold as I share this story every chance I get and with my 123 employees who will tell 2 friends and then they tell 2 friends and so on and so on. You never know who it is walking through the front door, but it appears you feel like you can rip off enough people that...
