Planet Fitness — Local services in Tupelo

I have been using planet fitness for YEARS. When I lived in Biloxi, I started using Planet Fitness, and then I moved to Tupelo and started using Planet Fitness again. I love this gym and their considerable managers and their prices are great. ALTHOUGH, I go to the tanning bed every day for a lunch break and I go to the gym after work. During the lunch break, a woman stands at the front desk and always checks me in for the tanning bed. She is ALWAYS standing at the front desk and I never see her move and that may be where she is required to be, BUT she is the rudest woman that works there. She always has an attitude and acts like handing me a sanitizer bottle was the worst thing in the world for her today. I refrained a while from saying anything because I usually do not care to write reviews, but when the employee is supposed to make you feel welcomed, but don't, I have almost considered changing gyms. Yesterday, when I was in Planet Fitness for a lunch break tan she was on the phone not even paying attention and still talking on the phone while I was standing there. As I said, I hate to write a bad review since I have been using Planet Fitness for so long, but this situation needs to be known to the management. I have worked in customer service all my life and I would want to know if one of my employees were rude...

It’s always something. The staff “play” too much. I’m not sure if I look like a teenager or want to play and joke after a workout while I’m requesting use of other things or what, but the play handing me the sanitation bottles.. it’s aggravating and everyone doesn’t like to play. Just the other day, the staff hawked and stared me down during my ENTIRE workout because I refused to take a picture. I come to work out, looking a mess, no make up, and you bothering me about a picture! I just skipped my gym day Wednesday because I didn’t want to be bothered!! I’ve been coming to this particular location since 2023, I have the black card membership. Sometimes they let my son trial a massage chair and then goes to say “who ever done it before wasn’t supposed to so be grateful,” and basically said I was a snitch for telling. What was my 15 year old son going to do to your chair?? Now I’m told I have to show ID upon entering because I refused a picture in that moment. What’s next??? I just come to work out like I’ve been doing, not eat your equipment. I’m not sure of how much longer I’ll be a member. I may rather go work out in the windows of the...

I have been a member of this place for about 2 months, and I am mostly happy with the facility. There are at least 30 treadmills, 10 stationary bikes, and 40 elliptical machines, so I have had no issues getting a machine even at the busiest time (5-6pm) of the day. Contrary to what another reviewer said, there are Smith Machines that can be used for bench press, squats, etc. The locker room is always clean, and I see the staff mopping it often. The negative:

1. There are two urinals in the men’s room, and one has been out of order for about a month now.
2. There are three sinks in the men’s room, and one has been out of order for about a month now.
3. People who are not handicapped (including an employee, license plate GCOLE3, who parks in it almost everyday) park in the handicap spaces at the front door. I am not handicapped, so I don’t park in them, nor do I want to, but this is a gym, people should not be lazy and should be willing to walk an extra 20-30 feet.
