What a WASTE of TIME. My wife and I was in Tupelo visiting the family over the Christmas Holiday. We needed a little away and decided to place reservations at this hotel. After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures, we reserved the Presidential Suite. The price was not too bad...but the cleanliness of the room was another story. Therefore, I advise the readers of this message to view the room prior to accepting the keys.
During the check in, the manager asked me not to bring ballons, confetti, or party decorations. I asked him why would he bring up the topic. He mentioned prior guests left the room in a terrible position. Him and I exchanged words in good faith then the room keys was given to me. This is when things went down hill.
After getting the keys to the suite, I places a few items in the refrigerator and on the bed. Then I left the room to go pick up my wife. We returned and started wiping down the hard surfaces of the suite. This is when my wife noticed there was inflated ballons at a corner of the sofa near the wall of the suite closest to the window of the suite. Then there was deflated ballon clippings around the exterior boarders of the suite and confetti too. She took pictures and forwarded them to my phone, as I walk downstairs to the front desk.
Once I describe my experience to the front desk clerk, all he could say was it was not possible for the suite to in that condition. Therefore, I pulled out my phone to show him the pictures. All he could say was the cleaning crew over looked a few things. I stated how could they over the cleanliness of the Presidential Suite? E, during these times of COVID-19!!! The front desk clerk continued to make excuses and gave no valid reason why the room was filthy!!! Especially, for a pretty good price. I wanna say it was a WASTE OF OUR TIME! I STRONGLY ADVISE ANYONE TO NOT EXPECT A CLEAN ROOM.
Please look over the pictures and my review of this hotel. Then the conversation with the front desk clerk was a poor representation of Tupelo, Mississippi and the Baymont Hotels/Wyndham Chain. I STRONGLY ADVISE FUTURE READERS NOT TO RESERVE THIS HOTEL. IF THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE WAS UNSATISFACTORY, IMAGINE WHAT THE OTHER ROOMS CLEANLINESS REPRESENT. I HOPE THIS IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OF THE...
Read moreWe needed a place for serval weeks Baymont said they accommodate small business and helped with rates so we choose Baymont over others having hot breakfast and better accommodations. The room was stale old smell upon arrival. The fitted sheets bare fit, but the employees were very nice and accommodating to our needs except for the manager isn’t very professional with handling situations. House keeping came around every morning by 8ish knocking on door for towels etc. never asked us to come in and clean or say could we please come in and do our job or just vacuum to complete their daily job. We never said don’t do your job. If we said don’t need anything it just meant no towels today, cups, soaps, and your other nice accommodations given to us. They would just say do you need anything? I would tell them sometimes I’m gonna be out of the room or let me know what they need to do and we would accommodate. Never once asked us to move our containers or step aside while cleaning. Instead they say, it’s your fault they didn’t do their job. If there is a problem the manager doesn’t come to the room to address it he waits till he sees you come around to breakfast room and addresses what he thinks could be your problem in front of others. My husband was so embarrassed. They said they located a smell to our room and wanted us to pack up and leave. We felt attacked by the approached situation. Instead of hey, let’s move you to another room and clean this one room and sorry for the inconvenience. It wasn’t till after the fact the manager decides to change his attitude and call our room and say come to front and see what we can do to put you in another room to make him look better. Manager could have said that from the beginning but no thank you. I wonder how he addresses those coming in and smoking Pot in the rooms which smelled awful to us staying there. We never complained or about the loud noises upstairs some nights. I went to the manager to have a one on one with him before our exit and he couldn’t be professional enough to talk without going back in front of the house keeping instead of accommodating a guest thoughts and opinion they...
Read moreWhat a disappointing stay at this hotel. We needed to stay in a hotel while some work was being done on our motorcoach, and after a lovely stay one night at the Best Western Plus in Tupelo we picked this hotel as many were sold out for the night (as was the Best Western Plus) due to football fans in the area. The main attraction for choosing this hotel was the indoor pool. We walked in and were very underwhelmed, and when we got to the room we were even more so. It was dirty, and there was what appeared to be several large spots of blood near the bathroom sink. My husband washed them off, and I went to the front desk to say that we weren't very happy with the cleanliness of the room. She offered to let us leave but we called several other hotels and found out there were all sold out for the day, and my husband persuaded me we could live with it for a night. I should have listened to my gut and found other accommodations. I ended up with BUG BITES all over my body the next day, and researching the bites revealed them to be BED BUGS BITES. I was horrified and quite uncomfortable. My hubby called the hotel that evening and after calling multiple times, with the phone simply being hung up instead of answered, he talked to the front desk person who said "they don't have bed bugs, they hadn't heard another complaint from anyone else, and they spray all the time." He asked that the GM call us, and we never heard a word. How's that for concern about your customers and their health and comfort? And it gets better! The reason we picked this hotel was for the pool and that didn't open until 11 a.m. so my morning workout couldn't happen. Overall the staff was unfriendly or looked absolutely miserable. The "included breakfast" was basically best suited for children with nothing but flavored oatmeal to microwave, highly sugared breakfast cereals and waffles. There were some sausage biscuits but they looked awful. There wasn't even a piece of fruit to be had. Check out the Best Western Plus, the staff was awesome, it was clean and the...
