Arrived around 7pm, ordered beverages and a free blooming onion (thanks, Kevin Harvick!). The restaurant was freezing cold. I brought a coat and wool blanket in from the car for my mom. Onion, drinks, & hot bread plates were served around 7:10. Plates were placed in my mom's lap under the blanket to try and stop her shivering. Placed order within a few more minutes - one grilled chicken dinner, two bowls of baked potato soup as meals. Server asked later if my parents would like their soup served along with my dinner or earlier. They had no preference. Server said she'd bring soup shortly before my chicken. My chicken was served but no soup - they'd run out just as she was preparing to get ours. She apologized, saying it wouldn't be long. About 10-15 minutes later, the fresh soup was served. Cold. Took a few more minutes for server to come back with fresh, warm bread and a tea refill. Tea was hot, soup was not. She profusely apologized over and over, offering to nuke the soup. That took another 8-10 minutes. During this time, amidst more profuse apologies, the server brought our bill explaining that she'd taken off the charges for both soups. Finally the manager brought the soup, scalding hot, and apologized for the kitchen failure, stating that the soup was fresh having been made only 20 minutes earlier and should have been hot (wonder if the kitchen temperature was as cold as the lobby, chilling the soup as it sat waiting to be delivered?). As attentive as our server was throughout the ordeal which was in no way any fault of her own, she then offered dessert. We agreed to try the chocolate thunder from down under. Plenty to split three ways! It was delicious. And free! Finally something went right this night. Needless to say, we were glad to get outside where it was warm so we could defrost.
The food was good, our server was great, but the kitchen service was dreadful and the temperature was entirely too cold in the seating area. Would we go back to this facility? Yes - IF Kevin Harvick scores another free...
Read moreWe hadn't been to Outback in almost 10 years, so after hearing the wait for the steakhouse next door was 45 minutes, we walked next door. We were seated in the bar area booths (bartender was our waitress) after less than 15 minutes of waiting.
Our order was taken promptly, but we noticed a few issues with the menu. The kids' menu has no prices, and the full menu has a half page devoted to lunch specials, but this location isn't open during any of the times listed.
My friend ordered the bone-in ribeye medium, and it came out rare to medium rare with the majority of the steak being fatty and inedible. I ordered the pork chops, and they were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked. The loaded baked potatoes that we both chose as sides were well topped, but the skins were too thick and dried out to eat. We both upgraded ($1 more each) to the blue cheese and candied pecan salad, and disagreed on it...he loved it, and I thought it was watery, looked yucky, and only had flavor when the rare bits of candied pecans were on the fork. My daughter ordered the Joey sirloin medium, and it came out very well done. She gnawed on a few bites, but ultimately just ate the fries and one of my pork chops.
The food runners brought our food out in a timely manner, and one young man in particular was extremely friendly and made us laugh. We never got a drink refill with empty glasses for most of the meal, but the bartender/waitress seemed overwhelmed with her section, a full bar, and drinks to make for the rest of the restaurant, so it is hard to blame her. Next time we will wait for a table in another section.
Our bill was over $80 with tip for a steak meal, pork chop meal, child's meal, and 3 waters, no appetizers or...
Read moreWe went their Feb. 26 at 4:30 pm , we met wife's friends their they already had a table ( supposed to be for 6) and we had a booth for 4 kids sit across at another booth and tell ya up front when we got their their was no waiting for tables ! Well as we're fixing to give our order the waiter came over and told us he has to check in with host of the kids can sit across from us in the booth . I told him before he checked that their was no room for them to sit and we eat comfortable . He returned in 3 mins and said the host said they had to be removed from the table they have people waiting to be seated and I looked out front and was no one waiting nor no line to be waiting and still had empty booths around us , I told the waiter I will be talking to the manager about this ! Wife asked me to not embarrass them and wait about talking to management so as we were completing our meal couple sit behind us with their kids and tha mother put their son on table and changed a dirty messy diper right their on table could smelled it and we seen it with our own eyes . Now I know the restraunt didn't have any control over this but it was the last straw . I talked to the manager over weekend and he apologized for the inconvenience we had and said he's haveing a meeting that week and will resolve this with host especially . We will see how things resolve when we visit next time , if no better we will pick another place to eat . But if ya spend $75.80 for 4 people and don't spend family time together much for working on different shifts , ya expect good food , good service . ( by the way the food was good and waiter was good to us but tha host messed the waiter up out of a tip ! Sorry to...
