I've been contemplating writing a review for this establishment for some time now. On January 25th, I went to this place for breakfast with my boyfriend. I remember the date because it was my birthday.

A woman showed us to our booth on the side of the place that was vacant of customers. She did not return after delivering our drinks. We sat there for maybe 30 minutes and someone finally came up to ask if everything was okay.

It was explained that we had not even ordered yet because the lady that sat us did not return. It was an hour before we even seen our food. It was good though, thankfully, and the woman serving us was very nice.

It gets worse though. Afterward, we went out to the parking lot to leave, only to find a car parked behind us in a no parking zone, blocking our vehicle from leaving. We stood there a good 10 minutes. I went inside to ask the staff if they could find the person driving a dark sports car.

Miraculously, the lady appeared to know exactly who owned it and said she would notify this person right away. I went back outside to stand with my boyfriend. On the other side of the parking spaces, opened a truck door suddenly with a woman shouting loudly at us that she would "be right there". And proceeded to sit there continuing her conversation with the owner inside the truck.

I was flabbergasted with my mouth open. She turned out to be the owner of the vehicle that was blocking us. She must have been watching us the entire time we were standing there, not doing anything about it. Not only that, it turns out she was a MANAGER. We walked over to her to tell her to get out and move because we wanted to leave. She CURSED at us saying that she was in employee parking. However, she was obviously blocking public parking.

Her name is Ann by the way. Super buddy buddy with the owner is what I was told because she wasn't fired for her ill mannered attitude. As a business owner myself, I would NEVER employ a person in customer service that lacked the skills to be in that job...

I really thought more of this establishment however, I was proven wrong on today. The way my family and I was treated this morning was absolutely disgusting. First off we were never properly greeted upon arrival. The server (a caucasian female) asked “how many” then proceeded to walk to a table without stating “follow me” which is quite rude. Next she approached the table without stating her name and nonchalantly asked “Were we ready to order.” My mother could not quite remember the meal she wanted so she tried to explain what she could recall but was cut off by the server before finishing. We all order and the food and coffee were cold as ice. The server never apologized for the inconvenience or her rude behavior. I was trying to nicely explain that the meal my mother was given was incorrect and was told “the crab is the most expensive item on the menu and we can’t replace it.” After the service received by both the MOD and server I was not willing to pay for the food that I did not order. Had she not been in such a rush when my Mom placed the order it wouldn’t have been an issue. My family and I left the money for the food that was eaten minus the incorrect dish. The server ran to the door, pushed my fragile Mother and started yelling “Assault” along with several other insults. We patronize this establishment regularly but today was the end of the line. My family has served this community since 1913 and we will make sure the community knows what type of customer...

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Brick and Spoon, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! I opted for their American breakfast, and I was not disappointed. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the biscuit was fluffy and flavorful, the grits were creamy, and the sausage was juicy and packed with deliciousness. Every element of the dish was done properly, showcasing the skill and attention to detail of the chefs.

The taste? Absolutely divine! The combination of flavors was simply mouthwatering, and I savored every bite. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the overall quality of the food was outstanding.

Beyond the food, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcomed throughout my visit. The restaurant itself had a charming ambiance, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Brick and Spoon truly knows how to deliver a delightful dining experience. From the perfectly executed breakfast items to the scrumptious flavors, everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend visiting Brick and Spoon for a memorable meal. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu options!"

I hope you find this review helpful and feel free to make any adjustments or additions to it according to...

The food while visually appealing was mediocre. The beignets were fine, slightly raw in the middle but I’ve never had them before so I don’t know if they are supposed to be like that. The orange marmalade was very flavorful and unique tasting to me. Nice mixture of a bitter orange and not overly sweet. The breakfast tacos were very nice to look at but almost flavorless. The mango salsa had no discernible taste. Cheese didn’t taste like anything. And the meat was the most disappointing thing about it. It was lukewarm temperature. The chicken had the texture of frozen fajita chicken, I’m almost certain it was. The chorizo had no taste. The only positives was the shell which was nice and crisp. And the most likely jarred salsa on the side, which tasted pretty good with a kick of spicy. The only really good thing about the meal was the fresh crisp fries, seasoned nicely. The biggest disappointment was the foot long blond hair in the sour cream. I didn’t complain at the restaurant because these things can happen on occasion. All in all disappointing but the very positive reviews about the Bloody Mary could make me come back and try it.

Awesome spot. First time ever, on a road-trip and stopped off in Tupelo Mississippi. Cute brunch spot walking distance from the hotels. Came in and immediately Melinda seated me , introduced herself and informed me that she’s taking care of me. She asked if I was ever there, explained to her that no I’m just passing through from outta town. She took the time to go over the menu . I ordered a triple mimosa , white cranberry, green apple and watermelon. Ordered on her recommendation ( which btw had nothing bad to say on any item) but explained the differences. I ended up with the bayou Benedict and a side of Parmesan truffle fries with coffee. Absolutely incredible. Service, cleanliness atmosphere and soon as you taste good quality ingredients. For the price it’s a great deal. Total bill including tax was $36. I will be returning on my way home next week and try another one if Melinda’s recommendations. The place is known for their bloody Mary’s. Personally I’m not into tomato juice so I went with the mimosas.

We researched best places in the area to eat breakfast and saw that TRAVEL & LEISURE rated this place one of the best places to eat breakfast. Maybe I’m a picky foodie but this was a huge disappointment. Eggs not even hot ... gross. I ate them with potatoes because those were a nice temp. Then came the French toast brioche when we got the orders they looked delightful then we cut into them. Not consistent at all dry places and grossly under cooked ones. At this point we didn’t want to send back but get the heck out of there as this restaurant is not adhering to any social distancing practices at all... ever table was occupied. When we got there and saw this we should have turned around instead of hoping for the five star breakfast that we read about, we listened to our stomachs and were sadly disappointed. After we pointed out the yuck the waitress did discount our check but, we didn’t even get the coffee and beignets that we ordered - thankfully we were not charged for them. I would try HARVEYS brunch instead.
