This was the WORST experience I’ve ever had at a Tru by Hilton hotel. I spent over a hour trying to check in with the host at the front desk. This was a company trip; a card on file with the business forms that were needed was all giving. Maria asked for a card to be on file for incidental when I arrived. No problem, until she ran the wrong card without verification of if it was the same card that book the room. Meaning, she locked the work card, to the point it declined and then charge my card for the full amount. When I asked her for confirmation on what was charge to each card, she responded by saying, I just put it all on yours. Completely disappointing, and disapproved I had to call my boss and let him know the situation. A hour LATER & still having an issue not knowing that she ran the card to the point it locked due to fraud, I just said cancel the room. Giving her the keys. She responded by saying well I already have you checked in and all we need to do is do a change of payment before check out and it will be ok. There’s no need to check you out then check you back in, with an attitude!!! Tried and frustrated I said sure. The next day I woke up to someone beating on my room door, saying this room is not paid for and I need to come down stairs at 7 in the morning. Walk downstairs to see the same host from last night and she began to ask completely clueless. Then wanted to charge my card again over a mistake she made‼️‼️‼️ I can go on and on with this situation and how it was so DISSATISFYING and UNPROFESSIONAL. No Manager was ever call to help with the situation of an inconvenience she cause. Then charge my card again & sent so email receipt so I could be reimbursed from my company. I WILL NEVER HAVE MY COMPANY or MYSELF book at this...

I generally love staying at Tru by Hilton, and this location in Tupelo, Mississippi, was not my best stay. This visit was tied to a special occasion—I was in town as the keynote speaker for an event—so I was looking forward to a smooth and relaxing stay.
Check-in was seamless and the front desk staff was great. I received my key quickly and headed up to my room. After dropping off my bags, I left to grab dinner with friends, feeling confident in the comfort Tru usually provides.
However, when I returned later that night, I ran into a few issues. As I went to use the restroom, I noticed some residue on both the toilet seat and lid. Thankfully, I had Lysol wipes with me and cleaned it off, but it was unsettling not knowing exactly what it was. When I got into the shower, I discovered that the lemon sugar body wash was completely empty, so I had to use my own, no biggie. After my shower, I noticed hair stuck to the bathroom walls, which made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before my arrival.
The next morning, I went down for breakfast, which I usually enjoy at Tru hotels. I grabbed the western omelet but didn’t realize it had ham in it—something that could be helpful to label more clearly for guests with dietary restrictions. And the pancake machine was broken. Since most other items didn’t fit my needs, I ended up going out for breakfast instead.
Overall, the stay was okay. While I appreciate the friendly staff and the generally modern, upbeat vibe of Tru hotels, this particular visit had a few hiccups that I hope will be addressed for future guests. A little more attention to room cleanliness and clearer breakfast signage would go a long way.

Read moreWe stayed here while on our way home. My husband booked it for my sister, brother and me. The area hotels seemed to be more desirable than in surrounding towns after reading numerous reviews. The hotel was clean. Cleanliness is one of the top features I look for in a hotel. Front desk guy was friendly. They have a pool table, books, games and magazines in the common area. Plenty of work stations for those working. The gym looked nice. They have a filtered water station for water bottle refills. The breakfast bar area was clean and Joanne was so very kind and super helpful. She is an asset to your company. The coffee bar is the best I ever seen at a hotel better than the other Hilton hotels I have stayed at this last year. Maybe it was the fresh pastries and coffee syrup that made the extra difference. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. I like their large bottle products. They had three hooks for towels on the wall in the bathroom and more in the room. This is great as many hotels lack this feature and there aren’t places to hand towels, purses and miscellaneous items. The shower was nice and spacious and had a place for you to put your foot for shaving. Easy access off the highway. The area I am not sure about. It’s a mixture of older buildings and newer development but I didn’t feel unsafe. There was a great restaurant right up the street. Lots of hotels and restaurants including some nicer ones on the strip. I’d be happy if every hotel I ever stayed at was as clean,...
