I have frequented other businesses in the Tuscaloosa area with this same business model, today my daughter decided she wanted to try Blaze since we hadn't been there yet... unimpressed is quite an understatement. When we walked in, having never been to Blaze I asked the girl if they offered different sizes, like most of the comparable restaurants do, they do not.. then when I expressed that I needed a moment to figure out what we would get she asked in the most nagging way, around 6 times if I wanted this or that, so I just ordered something basic that is hard to mess up... my daughter ordered the same thing she does at every pizza place we've been to the world over.. of course the young girl taking the order kind of scoffed when she said no cheese and then asked her repeatedly if she wanted this or that after being told no 3-4 times. We get to the register and the girl working it has less of a personality than the floor, I believe the only thing she said at all was my total, she spent the rest of our visit here admiring her own nails. We go to the "beverage bar" which again is extremely lackluster, and find our seat which was filthy, I had to wipe down our table before we could sit, when the oven attendant called my name for the first pizza I couldn't hear her over the loud music, since there weren't many people in there she looked at me and said it again, I pick it up and go back to the table. On first bite my 8 year old daughter apologized for asking to try Blaze and said she would never want to come back as the experience was bad from start to finish. My pizza was so incredibly mediocre I took it home after eating half a slice and then subsequently threw it out as nothing wouldv'e made it any better. The environment, options for sizes and toppings, staff, cleanliness and taste are all the reasons for this 1 star review, so don't waste your time or money here, try some of the other oven fired options we...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend came and we are PIZZA LOVERS,so when we heard blaze pizza was opening we couldn’t wait to get our hands on one. We were lucky enough to get a pass to come to their soft opening on 10-30-2018, the greeters outside we friendly once inside everything looked amazing and you could smell the aroma of fresh cooked pizza throughout. So after walking up the first pizza maker explained everything to us and how to order and since it was 2 of us and 1 ticket she offered us an order of the garlic knots on the house!! So we like absolutely we slide down to the next pizza maker this one prepares your condiments and we did a half pepperoni and bacon and chicken and garlic she was slow but her positive attitude was the best. After that you move to the cashier where our smiles turned to frowns. She was an African American with the WORST ATTITUDE OF ALL TIMES!!! Side note we are an African American couple. She was a plus size female with braids and one of her braids on the side was a blonde one. So after walking to her in a cheerful mood I say HI, she immediately looks at us and then the ticket and walks alway. So she comes back and is on her register typing away. I’m thinking maybe we need a receipt for our “free” food. So after uncomfortably standing their waiting to see what do next. She blurts out our garlic knots not free! It was $2 and some change. We said we were told they were free. She replies no there not! Then turns to the brick oven cook and demand him to immediately take out the garlic knots and throw them away. Then turns to us and rudely says I’ll call you when your pizza is ready. NEXT! So then my girlfriend had to go back up to ask for our cup, she gave her the cup after confirming if she had one on the ticket since we were rushed out of line. Please get all of your staff...
Read moreI have waded through hellfire and high-water to get this pizza before, and plan on in the future.
That being said, they have continually gotten my orders wrong, but due to my preference for their food, I've bitten the bullet, and accepted it.
Tonight was the last straw. They accepted my door dash order at 9:22; 8 minutes before they stopped taking orders. They accepted my order, and my bank alerted me the funds were withdrawn. The dasher had prematurely alerted us that he had even picked up the order.
It was only then, after 30 minutes of expecting a beautifully crafted pizza experience to arrive at my door after 8 hours of work and 3 hours of moving, that the dasher canceled our order.
I called the store directly, hoping to sort this matter out, and be told it was the dashers issue.
Alas, my hopes were crushed. The external vendor blaze pizza has hired to accept and direct their calls for phone orders was unable to complete the call to the store, a full 10 minutes before their listed closure.
Put rather straightforward; your management is abysmal. Don't accept my order and lead me on, and then not have the self-value to call me to tell me youre unable to fulfill my order. Your mother raised you better than that, and if she didn't I understand and I'm sorry you experienced that.
So here I am. No pizza. And even though I'm going to spend more money here, I won't be shocked when other people don't, and your doors close for good.
Straighten up and fly right. It's not that I'm mad, I'm just really...
