I don't usually do reviews of products and services because there are so many variables to consider. However, I am making an exception because I enjoyed this process and even more, I am thoroughly pleased with the end result. And I want to emphasize the pleasure of shopping local small businesses.

When we moved 3 years ago into a new-to-us house, I had a lot of our older artwork refreshed with new frames and mats, and over a 2-year period I added some auctioned pieces and some art that had been in storage. Then "my" framer, who I trusted completely, retired.

I was not as happy with a couple of the pieces I had done by the framing dept. at a 'chain' store. I felt I had been rushed into a 'timed' decision, and my choices had to be made in a hurry. It showed in the results: not quite as good as they could have been.

Recently though, I bought a watercolor that had been stored carelessly in someone's barn. It was beginning to suffer the ravages of time, dirt, 'critters', old & deteriorating framing, and not being loved and cared for. I remembered reading about a new frame shop located near me, so I loaded the mistreated painting into my car and took it to Tricia's Rose City Framing. It was the BEST spur of the moment decision EVER!!

Tricia is delightful, and has a great eye! She knows her business. She eased me thru the morass of frames and mats, and glass, and was very patient in helping me to choose the correct combinations of mats and frame to enhance the art, not overwhelm it. Her expertise, advice, and guidance were invaluable! We discussed the bit of damage that happened to the art in its previous life, and she even had a restorer weigh in on our options. I felt she really cared about the piece and wanted for it to live and be enjoyed again. And WOW! When the job was done, and I picked up the piece, I was the one overwhelmed! It's astonishing what those exactly right mats and frame had done to enhance the watercolor---and a room. I truly am enjoying the piece now, seeing nuances in color and subject. It's wonderful to see the picture now at home, --in my house! Thank you, Tricia, for such an encouraging and easy and fun experience--- and a stunningly wonderful result!!

Tricia is such a beautiful person inside and out! A a beginner of watercolor art, she was so very helpful, and took me under her wing. She introduced me to other artists within the art community. She helped guide me through the requirements for my first art show. She also picked out some amazing frames to dress up my art, not only in color, but also in texture. I have no doubt she is one of the reasons I won first and second place in my first art show! She’s a master of her craft and a wonderful guide that takes pride in her work!! Her pricing is also reasonable compared to the big box stores, but very high quality!! I will never take my work anywhere else and neither should you!! I enjoy helping a family owned small business and I love that she gives back to the community as well!
