ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I am a former OSU alumni, so I support OSU facilities, and I am very shocked by the way I’ve been treated at this place. I first established care here because I had concerns that I may have polyps and have a family history of polyps and colon cancer. My doctor examined me, and I asked her medical opinion if, given my symptoms and history, I needed a colonoscopy. She said she’d go ahead and put a referral for that and had me send in a stool sample. If the stool sample came up irregular to go ahead and schedule the colonoscopy. I drove to the clinic to drop off my stool sample because I didn’t want it to get lost in the mail. 3 weeks go by, and I haven’t heard anything, so I called and was told my doctor no longer works there. I asked what I had to do next and was told to establish care with a new doctor. Then I was told the previous doctor put my referral in as “patient requested” which meant that my insurance would not cover the colonoscopy, so I would need to see the new doctor and have him put in a referral as coming from him. I assured her I never requested a colonoscopy (who would actually volunteer for that??) and asked if they had the results of my stool sample. She said they had no stool sample on file. Even though I physically brought it there myself. THEY LOST MY STOOL. So at that point, I just rescheduled with the new doctor, who actually turned out to be pretty nice, so I decided to chalk that entire experience up to the previous doctor just not being very good. Then I made the mistake of going to their walk in clinic. I had previously scheduled an appointment with my doctor because I wanted to quit smoking and wanted to get a prescription for Chantix. I ended up needing to reschedule but couldn’t find a good time, but the lady said there was a walk in clinic with a nurse practitioner. I asked if a nurse practitioner was able to prescribe Chantix, and she said yes. I went to the walk in clinic and checked in with the front desk anf told them I was wanting a prescription for Chantix to quit smoking. They both seemed very confused. They said they didn’t think the nurse practitioner is able to do that, but they would go ahead and check me in and to go wait in the lobby. I asked if there was any way to confirm whether or not the nurse practitioner could before being seen because I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time waiting or be charged for a visit if he wasn’t even capable of prescribing Chantix . I was reassured that the nurse practitioner would let me know definitively whether he could or couldn’t before even bringing me back into an exam room. So I waited and was called and took back by the interns where they took my weight and blood pressure for whatever reason. Only after taking my weight and blood pressure did the last intern let me know that unfortunately they couldn’t prescribe Chantix and that I’d need to go to an actual doctor. I told her that was very frustrating because I was assured they would let me know before even seeing me. She apologized but told me that Al (the nurse practitioner) still wanted to “pop in and say hey”. I have no idea why because he couldn’t do anything to help me, and he already knew that. So he “popped” in and apologized that he couldn’t actually do what I was in there to see someone for, but offered to schedule me an appointment with an actual doctor. I ended up walking out with no appointment, no prescription, and no actual help. Then I just received a claim that he charged me $150 DOLLARS FOR A LEVEL 3 OFFICE VISIT. I called billing and explained the story and was told there was nothing they could do because that’s how he keyed it in. I have never been scammed so badly by anyone before. I am going to continue to dispute these charges, but I’m telling you now, DO...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews but I've been there twice and it's been too bad. I once had a mild eye injury and scheduled an evening express care appointment for 6:30 pm. I just needed an eye ointment. The nurse practitioner though literally told me that I can lose my vision overnight and sent me to the East ER. She also told me that my insurance won't cover an ophthalmologist in the AM, so ER would be my only option. I drove there and went through the whole thing, security scan and the line, to find out they don't even have an ophthalmologist. So I drove back to the Downtown ER to spend 6 hours and $14 for parking there (besides the bill itself) to get my eve checked around 2:30 am.. Did I really have a chance of losing my vision? No. Did I even need to go to the ER? Not at all. I checked with the ER doctors and later with the eye doctor (who was covered by my insurance). So I wasted a lot of time, nerves and money. I can understand the overprotective advice, but the nurse also lied to me about my insurance coverage and made me go to the ER, without even checking it, I guess.
One month later I caught a rough virus with some symptoms of walking pneumonia and made an appointment for an antibiotic prescription. I again expected it to be simple enough, but they gave me a sinus antibiotic instead of a cough antibiotic. Those sinus antibiotics don't treat walking pneumonia. I learned this the hard way after 10 days of taking antibiotics with no improvement. Both cases sound overly crazy unprofessional to me so I really don't...
Read moreWent to this location for the first and last time yesterday. The APRN (Natalie) made me feel rushed, didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable (said more than once “I have no idea” which doesn’t feel like a super reassuring thing to say to a patient who is looking to you as the professional who is supposed to help determine what’s going, could have been phrased better and bedside manner could definitely be improved upon), and spoke in a very condescending tone the entire visit and generally made me feel stupid for even coming in. She didn’t read my blood pressure to me or make any mention about how it was higher than usual for me. She also didn’t address one of my main concerns which was stabbing ear pain and by that point in the visit I was so frustrated with her attitude that I gave up and figured I’d go to another provider at another practice besides OSU because this isn’t the first time this has happened. All in all I paid money to see yet another healthcare provider who did not seem to want to do their job, made me feel like a burden, and didn’t offer me any sort of solution or relief until I could follow up with a specialist god knows when :) I’m sure this will get some sort of generic copy and paste response because OSU couldn’t care less about their patients or actually want to improve their experience. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the woman who checked me in (Diane I think) was so nice and my visit at least started out on a good...
