Five Guys — Restaurant in Valparaiso

I went to Five guys last week, Tuesday evening I believe it was. I just wanted their famous French fries, known for quality, flavor, and QUANTITY. Let's face it, they are known for the extras in the bag, the generous portion I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I've grown accustomed to. Well, let's be clear, those days are OVER! I ordered a medium, knowing that would be more than I needed and sure to satisfy my french fry craving. Big disappointing mistake. I got less than half the normal amount of fries. My cup wasn't full, and it surely did not "runneth over!" I wish I could say it was a one time experience but my bestie confirmed by the photo of her sad sack of fries, that this is the new norm. I seriously think this is the best burger I've ever had. And I guarantee it is the best burger I've had in this area. I love the bacon cheeseburger with mayo, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and jalapenos. I wish I could eat one every day but my jeans won't let me. If it's your first time be warned, the bacon cheeseburger might seem pricey but a lot less so when you realize it comes with two patties. If you're really trying to prove a point, I'd add on the cajun fries. They always use fresh cut potatoes and they are always cooked perfectly. But again be warned, the portions are bigger than you might anticipate. No what size you order it seems standard practice for them to fill the fry container and them hook you up with extra that overflow into your bag. Their burgers are delicious! The food isn't too badly priced, but it depends on what kind of burger you want & what you want with it. A regular burger actually has 2 patties, so if you only want 1 you have to make sure you ask. The food is made fresh right in front of you so you definitely get what you pay for. I'm not a huge fan of the fries, but that's just my own preference. Good wide selection of condiments for your food too. Very spacious eating area with very friendly & helpful staff that also greet you when you come in & say goodbye as you leave. Their Coke machine is really cool too, definitely no shortage of variety of drinks! The place is also decently clean & organized for customers. You should definitely try this place as least once....
