COCO BOBA TEA — Restaurant in Vancouver

Went there on a Tuesday afternoon. The employees are nice but they definitely need more training. We ordered the avocado smoothie, hong cha milk tea, and ube coffee. The person taking our order didn't know what their original black milk tea was which is odd because every other boba place I've been to has been very knowledgeable about basic drinks. The avocado came out fine. Only one of the young ladies seemed to know what she was doing. . The young gentlemen needed to ask for every ingredient and measurement for the ube coffee and even had to remake the drink. It did not come out looking like the picture on the menu but didn't taste terrible...just had a strong ube flavor without much coffee. Looked like an ube milk tea... Very dark purple with no layering. As far as the hong cha milk tea, he had to ask to make sure it was the correct bottle of milk tea . Another thing... Their skinny straws are not slanted at the end so it does not stab well into the cups. We had to use a large straw to poke the hole which isn't ideal. More proper training on the recipes and knowledge of the business would be ideal if they are going to be working their without the owner on standby to help. The location is a bit hidden from the main street so foot traffic may be difficult. Appeasing to repeat customers would be ideal rather than relying on one...

I saw advertisements of this place throughout Instagram. Their pictures and posts were very eye catching! I decided to check it out today with my husband. We ordered one guava iced tea with black boba and one kumquat sugarcane juice with black boba. The girls were sweet and loving as they took our order; they even asked us if we wanted to use the 20% discount for our order which we agreed to. We both knew that it was still their soft opening phase so we didn’t really care about how long we would have to wait. It didn’t take long for the drinks to be made but from what we witnessed, we could see that the girls needed more training on how to make the drinks consistently yet efficiently too. In my opinion, the owner should be there 24/7 or at least be present on the premise and help their staff improve daily before the grand opening instead of leaving them there to fend for themselves. When we got our drinks, it was visually pleasing. When we tasted the drink, we were underwhelmed. The sugarcane drink was not sweet and it tasted like bitter as if it was old. The guava drink was more decent than the other but nothing of wow factor. Overall, I would like to try this place again but maybe sometime in the near future if I’m...

I was so excited when checking out the menu and ended up getting disappointed. We got Vietnamese coffee, sugarcane juice and Hongcha milk tea. The Vietnamese coffee was so bland and watery. The color looked about right but somehow it was so bad. Maybe forgot the condenser milk? If using regular milk, perhaps not label it as Vietnamese coffee. Hongcha milk tea was pretty good with right amount of sweetness. It was hard to make the sugarcane juice wrong but somehow they managed it. It tastes so soapy. The sugarcane favor is still there but the soapy taste was so strong and I couldn’t finish it. So 2 of 3 drinks were not so good. Maybe come back for other drinks but...
