I had to drive up from mid Oregon to get a Washington Title for my vehicle that I've been going rounds with since August with CarMax. I called the office, told them what documents I had and that I needed a Title in my name. Initially they said yep they can do it, come up bring everything. So I did - It turns out that Olympia required me to do extra steps that they had neglected to disclose to me. The gals at the office were wonderful and although I didn't get the title initially they were very helpful to call the right people to get me the answers I've been unable to get myself.
I then drove up a 2nd time, did what I was instructed to do, went where I was supposed to go - I went to the DMV Office on Franklin since I had to go to the Deeds Office to file my Judgement, and they were just horrible and nasty - telling me to Go back to Oregon and make Oregon do their Fing Job.. literally that's what they said...
I was like yeah, not going to accept that answer. I went back to Hazel Dell Auto and waited until I could speak with the same gal I worked with the last time I was there. She took all my documents, called all the people again with Olympia, we all waited anxiously for what seemed to be nearly an hour to get the thumbs up, Olympia was accepting my documents and I FINALLY get my title! The whole office was excited for me, and they made sure everything was right, exactly how I wanted it titled, made sure I had everything I needed before I left so that I can title the car in Oregon now.
I had so many issues, both states pointing their fingers at the other, it was very frustrating. I really appreciate this office, and the extra work the girls went for me to get the situation resolved. yes, it sucked I had to drive back twice to get it done, spend $404.50 at the Deeds office, then extra to get the car title, but it was all worth it to have the hell i've ben dealing with over. I will absolutely go back to this location again if I need any other Washington DMV assistance....
Read moreIf anyone had ever told my momma that I had left a review for An Auto Licensing place she woulda whopped me upside the head with a rolled up phone book, which by the way was this thick magazine/book thing we used to have for finding people before Facebook and google. In those days no one ever left reviews for licensing places. You were on your own. Now that I think about it, in those days these places were literally bureaucratic nightmares with long lines of impatient people many of whom had their pickup trucks parked outside with their rifles hanging in the back window. Ah, those were the days! People packed in like sardines, bonding over frustration and hatred of the bureaucrats who ruled with an iron hand. Well, things have changed a bit. There were so few customers there, I thought maybe we’d wandered into the wrong place. Maybe we just got lucky, but there was virtually no wait. Now the lady that served us was honestly clueless, but she was trying. We assumed she was in training because it seemed as much a learning experience for her as it was for us. Thank god I went with someone younger because I could barely understand a word she said, which is a compilation of me being hard of hearing, everyone wearing masks and the big plastic partition, but that’s life nowadays. Compared to the old days, it’s an 8 or 9 star deal and maybe once our lady gets a little more experience under her belt, the rating will go up. She was trying. I was kind of glad we got her, the other two ladies seemed a...
Read moreOverall a good experience: the wait was not long (even though we went in fairly late in the day on a Friday, and then again on a Monday). Also, Holly (a trainee) was an absolute joy to work with: she was very pleasant and professional, and seemed to care a great deal about her job. We did work with another trainee (we had to come back a second time), whose name escapes me but also had a great demeanor and did a great job.
The woman training Holly (name was Sienna, I believe; she had very bright blue hair) was another story. When we were called up to the counter, she mispronounced our name as "Roose" (it's "Rouse" just like "house" or "mouse"), which I didn't think was a big deal but I did say the correct pronunciation. She shrugged her shoulders at me and said "Rouse, Roose," like it didn't matter or like I don't know how to pronounce my last name. I was also a bit stunned at the fact that she was using her phone at the counter while sitting there, supposedly training Holly; this seemed a bit lackadaisical and unprofessional to me. Overall surly, and put a damper on an otherwise...
