uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair — Local services in Venice

I went in today today with an issue with my Google phone. The phone is within warranty. And Google actually referred me to them. They are a repair partner with Google for warranty repairs. My screen developed a black spot in the corner which is a known defect in the OLED screens google uses. This is a known problem with these phones. I have had multiple friends with the issue. It is generally a warranty repair. They took my phone and looked at it. Said it was a problem with the oled screen from a drop of the phone likely. The phone shows no damage and has never been dropped. My phones is always in a case that protects both the screen and the phone rated for a 20 foot drop. The people in the store were nice and professional. But needless to say I now have to ship my phone off to Google who will repair or replace it no questions asked and be without my phone for up to 10 days. Instead of just being able to have it repaired today. I know they do good repair work from friends who have used their service. But I can't agree with their diagnosis and basically telling me its my fault when it is a defect in the device.

Edit Photo added as can be seen. The issue shown develops from a screen defect. There is no impact damage shown in the phone or case. For OLED to be damaged under the glass would show impact damage on the corner or glass. Again I disagree with the diagnosis. And Google looked at the photos and agreed. So now I have to go through the lengthy process of mailing it away. Thank you for the reply.

Update 2 Google repaired my phone under warranty no questions asked. So despite being told the damage was my fault. Google verified the screen was defective. Not from damage. Wanted to be sure to post a follow up. Beware if you take your phone for any Google...

I had a devil of a time keeping my iphone 11 Pro charged. It hasn't lasted 12 hours for the past 2 years. I couldn't wait until the 14s came out so I could purchase a 13 cheaper.

Walking down the sidewalk at Venice Village Shops I noticed uBreakiFix and decided to go check out what they do - THEY FIX THINGS!!!! Pretty much everything! I sarcastically mentioned too bad they can't keep my phone charged.

The guy told me he could do just that. He explained about the OEM battery and how they are allowed by Apple to replace the batteries and Apple condones the repair. so, i did it!!!

WOW AM I HAPPY!!!! My phone now stays charged all day. It is like the day I got it.

Was it worth it? ...

Firstly I will say that Ubreakifix is normally a name I suggest in fear..... But this is NOT the case here! Max made sure my phone would be repairable in advance (no bend or damage to the frame, etc) then contacted me as soon as my screen came in and told me just to turn up and he would get it done. The check in was easy and he explained everything that would happen, what it meant for me, and how long it would take. 30 minutes later I came back, picked up my phone exactly when they said, and everything was clean and new and worked perfectly. I have not had good experiences with other repair shops, but after this I would not hesitate to...
