Snowbirds Grille — Restaurant in Florida

So before going to this establishment, as usual, I looked at the rating and read some of the reviews. I was looking for a Philly cheesesteak and after looking at several photographs posted, I felt I couldn’t go wrong trying out one at this establishment. Although the waiter was very nice and considerate and atmosphere was nothing to complain about the Philly cheesesteak on the other hand was completely opposite of what I expected. When I questioned if this is the way, they typically make their Philly cheesesteaks I was told by the Cook, who I believe may have been the owner, absolutely. I showed him some of the photographs posted and he said that when they take pictures of them and post them, they look so much better than they really are in person. Take a look at my photograph and see if it looks appetizing to you as the others posted on this site. I love Philly cheesesteaks because they are well known for their steak cheese, onions, and bell peppers and they tend to fill the bread full. from there, I will let you decide. For me the two star I gave was being generous because of the waiters...

While looking for a beauty supply store, we happened to notice this out-of-the-way “diner” at the end of the strip mall next to a new grocery store being built. My wife said that she was hungry so she went in and asked if we could have our small dog with us at the outdoor seating area. She came out and signaled to me that it was “okay”. Nice, nice waitress came with a Cab for my wife and a water for me. My wife ordered the Coconut Shrimp plater with slaw and cucumber tomato salad. I went for the Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad Wrap with fries (of course). We went on a day that they had their two soups for free, so we ordered New England Clam Chowder and their Chili con carne. Both were fantastic! The food itself took a bit longer than we expected but it was so gorgeous outside…so, who cares. Oh, and the waitress brought a bowl of water for our dog. Nice touch. The shrimp was a big hit as was the wrap sandwich. Fries were outstanding. The slaw was just right. Terrific service and an unexpected place for lunch from an unassuming front façade....

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE OTHER REVIEWERS ARE SMOKING, BUT......

I was meeting a friend here for lunch since she had heard this was a great place for great food. I know people all have different tastes, but when I read that people from Maryland give these CRAB CAKES 5 stars, I have to wonder first if their reviews are legit, or what they were smoking when they ate there.

I also thought that ordering the MARYLAND CRAB CAKE SANDWICH would be a slam dunk, but nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, the bun it came on was huge, a slice of TOMATO and lots of LETTUCE with a bit of ONION, but the CRAB CAKE was more BREAD THAN CRAB, and very tiny compared to the huge bun it was served on. What a disappointment!!!!

My friend had the CRANBERRY ALMOND CHICKEN SALAD WRAP and she thought that was OK. She drank ICED TEA, and there was NO COFFEE to be had. WHAT?????? What restaurant does not even have a coffee pot, come on....

Obviously I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
