I came to eat lunch here a few weeks ago with a friend of mine. I really enjoyed my experience. It was a very friendly environment. The set up of the restaurant looked nice. There was a big selection between American food and Thai food. We chose Crab Rangoon for an appetizer which was really good. For my lunch, I chose the volcano. It was chicken and rice with a spicy sauce. Not too spicy, though. I enjoyed my meal. My friend chose the Pad Thai dish. She said she enjoyed her lunch, as well. My friend suggested we go to this restaurant because she has frequently gone for lunch here throughout the years. She and her late husband were regulars. This was my first time trying it. I can see why she loves it so much. It was a great experience and I will be coming back to support this small independent business.

We’ve been here a couple times but so far we’ve only had Thai food here and it was good. Good selection of Thai dishes. They also have an American menu but we haven’t tried their selections yet. I ordered the seafood platter which was cooked nicely but was a little overseasoned for my taste. The mussels were delicious and the broth it was cooked in was flavorful. It came with bread on the side but we didn’t know what it was for nor we were told it was included. The owners seem friendly. Service depends on who is working.

This is a great restaurant for Thai and American food. Delicious food and great atmosphere. I had fish and chips in my last dinner there and it was delicious! One thing I noticed is that there are many regular customers. They sit right at the bar and have their drinks and food, and the waiters call them by their names. It gives a good sense of warmth and familiarity. They have TV all over the walls where you can watch the games going on.

I have been coming here every time I travel to Florida. The Thai food is delicious. This most recent trip I was in the area for about two weeks. We ended up dining here 4 times during the 2 weeks! Two things to note- first on our first trip. Our server was a tall young man with a name tag “Tony”. Excellent kid- very efficient, well mannered, and very observant. This kid deserves a medal. Second note, and reason why 4 stars not 5. On our final outing here for this trip to Florida we had a young man as a server wearing a name tag “Anthony” but not the same kid as the other time we went a week before. This young man was almost as attentive and pleasant as “Tony”. This kid Anthony deserves a metal too- great well mannered kid. Nice to see these days. Anyways, the kitchen kept trying to force him to bring out my $25 steak dinner (chef special on American menu) which I have never ordered. Mind you we haven’t even gotten our two appetizers yet at this point. He finally came out and said “they keep making me bring this out so it doesn’t over cook” I get the plate and 80% of the steak is grey and has the consistency of boot leather. Anthony did the right thing by removing this meal from our bill as I refused to eat it. I ordered the steak medium rare. This is NOT a post to bash Sand Trap. WE LOVE SAND TRAP. I just hope someone from the kitchen sees this!! Anthony you did the right thing and thank you for being a great waiter. Can’t wait for our next trip. Overall- EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!! Go...

I ordered delivery from this place. The menu looked amazing, the prices are also pretty good. But when I got my food I was very disappointed to say the least , the portions are very very small. We ordered three different items, a duck, grilled salmon, and pod Thai. After my dinner I was still very very hungry. The salmon was tiny ( half a palm in size ), the duck was tiny, and I only had 5 shrimps in the pod Thai, I’m pretty sure I did not order from the kids menu. I will never order from this place again.

Updating my review after the owners response:

I am grateful for your response, which means you care about your customers and that is good so I’m going to add an extra star for that.

From what it seems like to me the delivery and the dining is a completely different menu. That was not disclosed to me.

I think if I am ordering a delivery from a restaurant I expect it to be the same quality as if I was dining in, but obviously I wouldn’t want to go and dine in after I received the food with was not a good quality to my preference I totally understand that right now the times are a little different, but from what I’ve experienced in many other restaurants, it didn’t seem to affect their portions or taste, because I have ordered in and dined out in other places and the food portion and quality was good.

I also think there should be a disclosure that since there are some hard times at the moment the quality of the food will be different than everyone else was used to prior to...

My husband and I came here with our son and 9 month old baby girl. The minute we were seated our little girl squealed with excitement (as most babies do when they discover a new surrounding) and the hostess immediately told us we had better keep her quiet so we don't bother the other guests. No problem! We got up and left before we could even be greeted by a server. The Sandtrap won't ever see another penny from our wallet again! As a matter of fact, we take our children out for dinner once a month and have NEVER had a problem. Every time we do, people always approach us and compliment us on how quiet and well behaved our children are. We always dine around 5:30 and never go to high end restaurants. The Sandtrap has a bar surrounded by tv's and gets quite loud, which makes this even more ridiculous. We do respect other people who are dining out and expecting a relaxing dinner. I guess I didn't realize that the owner of The Sandtrap was so cruel and rude. Warning to all parents, if you have children, do not bring them out to this restaurant or you will be treated inappropriately. Even if they are...
