Hello all! I needed to take the time to write this review because I think it’ll help a lot of girls out there who have a thick, dry, hard to tame in humid weather type hair- like mine. It’s naturally curly but I always have a blow out. I like my blow outs to have body on top. And I’ve gotten a keratin before. My issue always was that I felt that every time I got a keratin, my hair felt too straight, at least in the beginning. I would hate the way my hair looked for the first two weeks because it looked like my hair was taped to my head- and for my face, I wasn’t a fan of that look. Plus, it always felt so thin afterward. I would grab all my hair in a pony tail and feel like “Where’d all my hair go”! It always took at least 2 weeks before my roots grew in a bit for some height. And this is why I’m so happy with this treatment I got at Julius Michaels hair salon, I just had to write a review. This has been the best keratin I’ve ever had- I still have body , my hair still feels thick and it takes a fraction of the time to do- this one makes my hair feel light and bouncy and still have volume while feeling silky. I can run my fingers through it and it even looks good air dried with a soft wave. With this heat, it’s been a life saver! My experience was phenomenal. I just moved to Westchester from Phoenix, AZ and have gone to the same stylist in Scottsdale, AZ for over 6 years. I am very particular about my hair and looking professional is a must. Needless to say, it was nerve-wrecking to move across the country and have to find a new stylist.

I found the Julias Michael Salon via the Westchester Magazine listed as a top salon. The article mentioned Jennifer, a precision cutter. I scheduled an appointment and brought along instructions from my stylist in Arizona (yup, I'm that crazy about my hair!). Everyone was kind, smiling and I did not feel out of place in the slightest. The space is small, but they only do hair - so it works.

Jennifer was personable, skilled, and let me provide feedback (because after all, how is she supposed to know if I like it or not if I am not vocal?). I am extremely satisfied with the experience and the cut and touch-up that she provided. Not to mention, I pay less now than I did in Arizona!

I will be back every 3-4 weeks from here on out and I suggest anyone on the fence with visiting this salon does the same. They even have coffee, tea and I think I spotted some...

Very disappointed in the unprofessional and rude atmosphere of this salon. I have been kept waiting with no acknowledgement or explanation for delay. I decided to leave and called the salon shortly thereafter to explain my departure. The receptionist apologized said things were hectic (there were 3 other clients in the salon at the time) and said Julius was talking to a scissor salesman. I was waiting for 20 minutes without an explanation.When I expressed my disappointment the owner/colorist (Julius) called and said he was sitting in the front of the salon with a scissor salesman, and that he has had to wait for me on a previous occasion (which was totally fabricated and very insulting, as well as unprofessional).
