I have been involved in the Pure Barre community for over ten years as both a student and instructor. Iāve had the opportunity to visit a number of studios across the country and was excited to add the Vinings studio to my list. Unfortunately, my experience at the Vinings studio was extremely unpleasant.
I was attending class with my mother, who is a longtime Pure Barre member. She wore knee-length shorts to class, as is allowed at her home Pure Barre studio. Unfortunately, this is not allowed at Vinings. After a condescending encounter with the woman who was managing your front desk (where my mother was asked about the new client email which shares the no shorts policy, which she had not received today as this was not her first time attending the Vinings studio), she was told that she could not attend class in shorts. While we understand following your policy (and did not push back on having to leave) what I do not understand is the condescending and unpleasant manner in which we were treated at the studio.
We were not greeted upon walking in to the studio. When I asked for a refund for the class I was now unable to attend, the front desk manager sighed and acted like I was putting her out of the way, and she also made complaining comments to other students as she came to refund us (mentioning that she was trying to go to the bathroom, but now couldnāt, because she had to help us). While she may not have intended to come across as so rude and unhelpful, she did, and it was glaring in comparison to the way she spoke to studio members coming in and out as we stood at the desk waiting for our refunds.
As a first time client at your studio, I was appalled that this is how you would treat guests. This is not the experience that I have come to expect from Pure Barre, and I was disgusted. I recommend that your front desk team member be retrained in how to speak to customers, enforce policies with kindness, and engage with members of the community in a way that encourages inclusion instead of making people feel othered. Perception is so important, and even if her intentions were good, her delivery made me feel unwelcome and I will not return nor recommend your...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePure Barre Vinings is my 2nd home and my 2nd family. I love this studio, the teachers, and our Owner, Maggie Thompson so very much. They give me my sanity for 50-55 minutes a day. I love the wide range of classes and creative challenges. You could take Classic, Reform, or amp up your cardio with Empower. I love each and every class because they are so different and work so many areas that I always get an amazing workout. I always wake up the next day feeling like I definitely accomplished something the day before in class. The atmosphere is amazing and it makes me work harder to be in class with my friends. Don't want to be around people in COVID times? No worries, Maggie and the team have virtual classes almost daily for Members on Facebook Live. The teachers are so engaged on the virtual classes and make sure to give everyone an individual shout out by name whether physically in-studio or Facebook Live. Maggie and Pure Barre are super creative with Class Challenges that push us all to work harder and take 20 classes in 30 or 60 days. I have been an Unlimited Member since July 2015 (5+ years) and have 873 classes under my belt as of today! Working toward that 1,000 class mark and celebrating with my Pure Barre Tribe and signing the 1,000 Barre! Can't wait! Come find your LTB...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLOVE PureBarre Vinings! Iām an aerial coach and I was trying all kinds of new workouts to help with cross training. I found PBV in April and the first class kicked my butt (in the best way)! I was immediately hooked and have been coming to classes almost every day since! No other workout can compare to the 50 min you give yourself here. The instructors are amazing and supportive and they remember everyoneās name. I always feel welcome when I walk in the door. The overall community they attract creates a wonderful environment where you can feel comfortable and at home no matter what level of physical ability youāre at.
Iāve already started referring my friends to PBV and they love it too! My only advice is, if youāre not sure after the first class (whether it was too challenging or hard to keep up) give it one more try and youāll be hooked! Itās the best kind of addiction for your mind, body...
