I have lived in Vinings for 4 years and usually visit this Mellow Mushroom location about twice a month for takeout. Over the past few months the quality of food and service has steadily declined while prices have increased. About 2-3 months ago I ordered a build your own pizza with all veggie toppings and it was soggy when I got it home, I couldn’t eat it and threw it away. When a large pizza is over $35 now, I don’t have that kind of money to waste. I was craving pizza and decided to give them one more try. I ordered another large build your own pizza with all veggie toppings. I did not order onions. I hate onions. When I got my pizza home I discovered it was covered with a layer of onions on the bottom of the pizza closet to the cheese. I can only think this was done on purpose as I have never seen so many onions on a pizza in my life, it was an abnormal amount of onions. I tried to pick them off 2 pieces of pizza and my hands smelled like onions for hours despite numerous hand washings afterwards. The onions were so strong it ruined my entire pizza as even the dough tasted like onions. See picture below of the onions I picked off just 2 pieces of pizza, it is an abnormal amount of onions. Another $38 wasted and dinner ruined. I called the restaurant and they agreed to refund my money as they should since I threw this in the trash. I will never ever eat at this location again. Service has steadily declined over the years. When I arrived to pick up my pizza I also had to wait about 10 minutes before any employee even acknowledged me and there was no other customer in front of me waiting. The guy at the bar was too busy flirting with a woman sitting at the bar to help me. I guess I’m not attractive enough to be served at this restaurant. Don’t worry I’ll take my money and my business elsewhere...
Read moreWhhhy do I always give restaurants 2nd and 3rd chances? It was pretty empty an hour before closing, we were sat right beside the counter, and I counted 11 workers running around that were seemingly doing nothing. Yes, I've served before. Our server appeared 10 minutes in and never had time for us to put in our order, which we already knew, she ran off after hearing us ask for water, I was trying to say "and could we get..." when she turned and ran off. When she dropped our water she ran off again even though our menus were stacked at the end of the table. We finally ordered our half order of pretzels and pizza at the same time. Then watched her fold boxes for 1 minute on the counter beside us and then throw her phone down on the inside of the boxes she's folding, showing her phone and laughing with other another server while other staff came up and joked around for over 10 min. I kept glancing back over to see if they were actually still doing the same thing. The service was so short and rude, our pretzels came out right after the pizza (40 min), one had supposedly "fallen over"(?). She asked if we still wanted them, I was like no thank you. She brought them but rang them off (thankfully) because all it was is pizza dough, twisted and sprinkled with parmesean, there was zero garlic or pretzel flavor. The marinara to dip it in might as well be canned tomato sauce. Pizza was ehhh. Uneven toppings, uneven crust the ham and bacon were not very good, ham was too sweet and the slices weren't separated and both had a funky flavor. How do you mess up bacon or pizza? Last visit to any Mellow, service is always lacking if not nonexistent in...
Read moreHORRIBLE customer service. Eric (in the kitchen) was the best thing about my experience today. I completed a curbside order online, only to get to the restaurant and get a busy signal when I called from the curbside pick up parking. I walked in and there was NO line, a waitress came over to me immediately. I politely told her that the curbside callers are getting a busy signal (literally I had a bubbly smile on my face), her response was, "you can pick up your order right there". She pointed to an area near the kitchen. I told her again that my order was a curbside order, to which she told me AGAIN that I could go and pick up my own food. While she is sending me to get my own food, the bartender goes to the same area to bring food to the couple in front of me. When I went to get my food, I wasn't sure if I had two bags or one. The waitress went back to folding silverware into napkins and offered ZERO assistance. Eric came around from the kitchen and helped me. To make matters worse, we came specifically for the Elevated Cobb salad and the Esperanza dressing but received ranch and blue cheese dressing instead. As a former server, I am beyond patient and have the utmost respect for the essential workers in the food/restaurant industry, but the the customer service that I received today was horrible. I only gave two stars because of Eric...otherwise I would've rated this experience as a one. Please do not offer curbside as an option (and include tips prior to service) if you do not provide curbside service. I wish that I could've gotten my 15% tip back and given it to Eric. Please work on your servers customer...
